LET ME FIX IT UP FOR YOU A BIT:

This is Dan Wickes's thought process:

"I have gotten into the game recently so I have newer cards. By playing in a format that allows only new cards, I can screw some players who have old cards. How do I do this? Turn everyone against their favorite target, Colin. If it is me vs. him, I will win because I'm always right and it's an awesome strategy. Joe is my toughest opponent, by not letting him use his cards, I can get Joe updated and also get the game to be more fair! Problem: I like Doritoz."

The Good:
Forces us to get updated
Makes the game more fair
Believe it or not, it makes us want to trade more and etc. because:
Worse cards, you want trade for better ones
New strategies
Better tournament-wise
& More...

The Bad:
Doritoz

I see your points, but because all of my cards are old, I would either have to spend a lot of money I dont have or quit.

Genius, but with some ADD

Colin I'm going to say this very simply for you.

90% of the people in G-Hops have only started playing in the past 1 1/2 years.
Old cards = Great strategies
Great strategies = Always winning (and winning in annoying ways)
Always winning = no fun
No fun = NOBODY WANTS TO PLAY YOU

The reason that I do not like old cards is that they are too much better than the newer ones. Worldly Tutor was bad, but in only gets worse. If we continue legacy, Colin will start bringing in other old, broken cards like savannahs and mind twist (only cards I can think of off of the top of my head). And Colin, you have plenty of new cards from not only drafts, but you can use cards going back to invasion. You really shouldn't have a problem.

Oh, and Joe, I think that if you update your deck with better cards you should be able to beat me so it's not to make it so I win every time, it's just to make things fairer.
