Uh, hi. This is a skintest board for HS, or, well, Mauro, who doesn't really make skins but is basically the only person who remembers this place. >.>

Armor and Weapons: Primarily, Mauro weilds a Master Scimitar he collected during his travels. The hilt had finger shaped grooves on it, and was wrapped in a sandpaper like material for added grip. The blade itself is short and curved, with jagged teeth along the sharp edge so that when you're hit with Mauro's blade, it leaves a mark.
Though the Scimitar is Mauro's weapon of choice, there have been other assorted weapons he has picked up while adventuring, such as his Skull Hammer, which he uses for when his attacks need a bigger punch, or his Heroes Bow, for when an attack from range is required. On top of this he has an assortion of explosives and a stone knuckle duster concealed under one of his leather gloves.
Techniques/Spells/Alchemies: Garo Skills: Spin Attack, Diversion, Water Walking, Puppet Clone, Peril Beam, Power Beam, Tripwire, Dark Mist, Crash
Xenocider Skills: Feline's Instincts, Bird's Instincts, Fish's Might, Warrior's Might
Songs: Epona's Song
Appearance: Tall and lean, Mauro's rarely reffered to as 'muscular' though it's not to the point where it halters his combat ability. His black, wiry hair is pushed to each side with a parting to the left, it stops just below his pointy ears, covering them up partially.
Due to an incident with a Dodongo in his earlier years, Mauro's face is burnt and blackened, permanently. Due to this he constantly dons a metal mask, covering up his face almost in it's entirety, with a slit at the mouth and small, circular eye-holes. The mask has strange designs upon it, none of which even Mauro himself know the meaning of, unbeknown to him, the designs on the mask are of an ancient society of Xenociders, and it is what gives him his power as a Xenocider.
Though his facial features are certainly unique, Mauro's attire is significantly bland in comparison. Folded-at-the-top black leather boots overlap a faded old pair of purple trousers, while an untucked, pinstriped white shirt falls over his waist. On colder journeys, Mauro also dons a black overcoat that stops just above his ankles, it has three deep pokets, one of them inside the coat itself, and a hood.
Mauro wears a ring on each hand, one with a blue stone and one with a red. Of course, being an adventurer, Mauro also takes a brown delivery bag with him to hold all of his items and the like, it has but one large compartment and a shoulder strap.
Personality: Mauro is a very possesive person. He likes to know that things are his and keeps a very strong grip on things he values, probably taking root in his poor background. Never having experienced a friendship, Mauro feels he can do without friends, he's fine on his own. Which is just as well, because finding friends is difficult for him, due to the fact that he is incredibly shy, and the mask he wears tends to creep people out.
If he did make a friend, though, his feelings about that friend would likely be similar to his feelings about posessions, in the sense that he would try to hold onto them, and protect them. The Hylian hates being talked about in a bad way, constant slander in earlier years having led him to do something really stupid. Mauro is very cheerful at heart, always looking on the bright side of things, no matter how bleak situations are.
Anger is something Mauro does a good job of holding back, he is a very sheltered and calm person but when he is set off he is hard to calm down.
Back Story: There never really was anything right with Mauro, his family wasn't very well off, and Mauro was often mocked when he turned up for school wearing trousers so short they hung inches above his ankles, simply because he couldn't afford to shell out on a new pair.
Such ridicule robbed Mauro of any aspirations at friendship in his childhood years, nobody wanted to hang out with the weird kid, but that wasn't necessarily a downside. No friends meant no distractions, and Mauro's time at school was well spent, getting his head down and working hard.
As the years flew by, Mauro's financial situation continued to do him no favours, and was never socially accepted. As year after year of mockery rolled in, however, the boy's tolerance became very, very thin, and before long, he snapped. Not snapped in the sense that he went crazy and attacked someone, but he did do something rather uncharacteristic, he commited a robbery.
Slipping out of bed in the dead of night and creeping across the village undetected, with everyone snugly tucked up in bed, he passed through the door and glanced around, he could still go back...no, this had to be done, he wouldn't be poor any longer.
The boy padded around the house without a sound, becoming increasingly more tense as the rumbling snores of the residents echoed through the house as if someone were revving a chainsaw. Praying that none of them would wake up he continued to peer around every corner until he spotted it, one big, heavy bag, just laying there to be taken.
Aha! He exclaimed in his mind, hurriedly walking over and snatching up the bag, confirming it was full of rupees as he heard the light jingle upon lifting it. He turned and with a smile on his face turned to leave, the door was in sight before it all went pear shaped.
In his haste to get out of the house he failed to watch where he was going, and his toe connected with a table leg as he walked past, letting out an ear-splitting cry that no doubt woke the owners of the house, he dropped the bag.
Rupees spilled out onto the floor of the lobby, as the assorted snores coming from the rooms and remarks of confusion could be heard from the rooms behind Mauro, he scrambled to stuff the rupees back into the bag until a door flew open, and a large man emerged, clubbing the desperate Hylian over the head.
When Mauro awoke late the next morning, he was brought before the mayor of the village, he was told that though he wasn't going to be thrown in a prison, he was being exiled from the village, and that if he were to return, death would await him.
As he walked from the place of his childhood where he could never return, all of the villagers gathered by the gate, some simply to observe, others to jeer, one of them even spat on Mauro, but at this point he hadn't the energy to care.
Upon leaving, Mauro took to the mountains, opting for the secluded outskirts of Goron City to set up camp. A peaceful lifestyle, at last! Nobody to laugh at him, no need for money at all, just he and himself. Of course, living in seclusion had it's drawbacks, for example, food. Admittedly, the food was bad at home, and there was little of it, but at least it was put on a plate for him 3 times a day. Now he had to hunt, something that, to start with, he was incredibly bad at.
With time, he improved, though, and as more time passed and he became accustom to weilding a sword, he ventured into the Dodongo Cavern to actually test his growing skill. He managed to defeat a small group of Keese, and even find his way around a Beamos, but when he came face to face with a fully grown Dodongo, he was wounded, and left the Cavern with his tail between his legs.
Mauro was hurt, and bad. Barely able to open his eyes due to his frazzled skin, he took off up the slopes of Death Mountain. In desparation he fled into Goron City, where thankfully he was given treatment for his injuries. Although they were Gorons, and weren't burnt too often, they sure did seem to know a lot about burns, and were able to limit the damage to a minimum, however the Hylian's face was blackened and disfigured, permanently.
When Mauro deemed himself fit, he gave his thanks to the generous Gorons who had aided him and left, he may have been wounded but he hadn't given up on adventuring, he just needed to improve more.
The mountains had been a good home to Mauro, and if a boring life had been his aspiration then he would have stayed, but unfortunately, it wasn't. The budding adventurer's first destination was Hyrule Castle Town, and as he entered the busy place he attracted many stares.
Of course it was to be expected with a face such as his, but that kind of attention brought back unwanted memories of when he was jeered at for being poor in his home village, so to avoid this to some degree, Mauro ducked into the Happy Mask Shop.
"Good evening, sir! Feel free to browse." The Smiling man at the counter said cheerfully, he silently observed as Mauro scanned over the masks on offer and picked one out, placing it on the desk. When the Happy Mask Salesman saw which mask Mauro had chosen, the smile vanished from his face to be replaced with a look of concern. The Salesman leaned forward and spoke in a much lower, serious tone of voice.
"Are you sure you want this mask?" He said, almost worried. "Yes, I'm sure." Said Mauro, they exchanged money and Mauro left wearing his new mask, totally unaware that the mask he was now wearing had incredible powers he would unlock in time.
