I have gone in a major HR slump. Hanley Ramirez is still on 16 and hasn't hit one in about 15 games at least. Sandoval and Belt are tied with the team HR lead at 18. Ramirez does have 39 SB in 40 attempts. An unbelievable percentage. Far better than anyone else on the team. Pagan has close to 30 SB I think but his percentage is just over 80. I have kept Burriss on my bench just as a pinch runner and base stealer but he has gotten picked off a little too much. |

Don't be ashamed to drop pitch speed! The reflexes don't get faster over time. I think I've made only one set of tweaks to my sliders over the last 60+ games. Once I get a good base set I really try not to change things. One thing I have never been able to solve is the strikeout/walk ratio but I don't worry about it anymore. Since I got the sliders to where my offense is better I probably don't strike out quite enough and I don't get quite enough strikeouts against the cpu either. Walks are low but a lot of that is user error. I would really like it if they added cpu plate discipline as a slider next year. I also don't like how the Contact slider works. I think it should simply adjust how big or small the PCI is. Right now there are too many things that affect it. I think the solid hits slider affects things a little too much myself but the relationship between those two sliders needs to be more distinct imo. Edited by Rudy, Jul 26 2012, 03:59 PM.

After beating LA in the first two games 2-0, LA sat both Kemp and Ethier in game three. They started Chris Campuano (sp?) and I could not hit him. He didn't throw that hard but I always always late on his fastball as he mixed speeds and toyed with me all game. I was down 3-1 in the 9th but came back to tie it and then won it 4-3 in the 10th! Sweep! Now I have a four game series with Atlanta before a day off and then September is almost there. The 40 man callup will help me a little in that I can add some pinch runners and a long reliever but I don't expect to use much of them. Game 1 against Atlanta had Zito on the mound and he pitched well. I ended up winning 3-1 and Wilson got his 34th save. The one problem is that Runzler went in the last Dodger game and only lasted 5 1/3 so almost everyone in my bullpen is tired right now. I've got my top two pitchers in the next two games - Bumgarner and Lincecum. Timmy was taxed after his last start so he may go in game three. I'm now 64-61. Three games over .500! I'm in third place and only three games back of LA and Arizona who are 64-58. I have three series with Arizona left and two with LA. |
