Played a few more games again using B.H's sliders. I am not going to post stats because I made a few minor adjustments while playing-Mainly to the the AI's pass sliders. For me, I was getting lit up too easily. For 3 full quarters the AI qb missed one pass out of about 20+, not good. I also made some adjustments to my pass rush slider because I couldn't even get close to the AI qb Nonetheless-I like these sliders alot I just needed a few of my "final touches" on it.I would suggest to anyone that wants their own hybrid sliders to use these as a starting point, instead of going 50/50 0/0 etc. etc. My last game was the Eagles (me) vs the Pats. Final score was 16-9. First game I had this year where I actually stopped the AI from scoring a td. Not that I want that all the time, It just shows anything can happen now and realistic final scores are a go. Before, final scores for me went well over 24 points for each team. This does NOT happen every game in the real NFL. Anyhow-nice base set to dial in with.....I'm still playing on slow speed and going 14 min. quarters with 15 acc. clock. I am still calling audibles with wr shifts with plenty of time to do so. I also bring the clock down to 2 to 3 seconds left before snapping. |

I played a half with Bill's sliders and I'm not really used to the wide camera, I had a hard time focusing on the main area of play, so I may have to go back to the standard camera, I understand why he uses the wide camera and with a fast speed you do need a wide camera. The speed was a little to fast for me, so I'm going to dial it down to slow again. I had a couple of plays where the WR had a ball go right through his hands and others where he dropped them and on those occasions they were wide open. I did have a sequence where I got called for 4 straight penalties two on 3rd down, I converted the first one but it got called back on the other I was short and than I got tagged for 2 holding calls on the FGA, I made the first but missed the 2nd. in the half there was 65 total plays which is good but I'm getting throttled 21-0 by the Browns, (I'm the Jets). TOFF 258 yrds for the Browns and Lewis has run all over me for 143 yrds on 9 carries and one screen pass. My TOFF is at 73 yrds with 2 ints. this is a good base like others have mentioned, I'm just going to change the camera and speed and see how it goes. now I'm all excited to see Dr. Coffestein's slider creation

ok after playing two more games with BH's sliders, I'm convinced I suck and am not a hardcore gamer. I didn't get blown out points wise in my last game Balt. (Me) vs Jax. I lost 17-0 but after the first qtr Jones-Drew already had a 100 yrds rushing and I could only muster 1 minute of possession. Jax did score every qtr and I could only muster 80 yrds TOFF with 7 minutes of possession Jones-Drew ended up with 265 yrds and the game was no longer fun in the second half, I guess I need to have OCD to be able to play with these sliders. I do like a lot of what BH implemented, but I guess I just need a lighter version of his sliders. I don't want to go back to default but I'd go nuts playing with these sliders all the time. any suggestions? |

I have tweaked the sliders myself: -I use the standard camera. -I am on Normal speed right now and it feels pretty good. -I lowered the injuries to 47. At 50 I was getting way too many and at 47 I am getting a few here and there. May have to bump it up a bit more. -I don't care much for penalties in video games so I have them scaled pretty far back except for offsides, and pass interference. The problems I have seen game play wise are these: -CPU FG kickers are not accurate enough. Bumped that up to 48 -My QB does not have enough time in the pocket on 75% of the pass plays and about 95% of play action plays. I bumped CPU pass rushing down to 90. This is a start. I may have to adjust this more. Bill Harris is still working on the sliders and says he will have a new edition out next week. I really like what I have right now and I suggest everybody start with these and adjust accordingly. Of course everyone has different skill levels; I don't consider myself a very good player, average at best. I play NCAA Football on Varsity level with tweaked sliders to help the CPU; a lot of guys play on Heisman and I could never do that. Dawdler, just start adjusting these sliders in increments of 5. That's my suggestion. If you are getting pounded by the CPU running game, tweak all 3 of your running defense categories up 5 and all 3 of the CPUs rushing offensive down 5. Play a half against Jacksonville again and see how that goes. Do the same for whatever your biggest problem area is on offense. Good luck to ya! *My other gameplay problem is that it is just plain hard to throw down field. Your receivers rarely if ever get behind the safeties and the corners cover very tight. Because of this, most of my passes go to slot receivers running underneath routes or the HB/FB/TE on quick passes in the flats. This sucks because I am really not using my #1 receiver much at all. Don't know how to remedy this yet. Edited by Quint75, Aug 20 2009, 11:29 PM.

Ok guys....well after making an attempt to get a slider project going with some cats over at OS (which didn't pan out)...I decided to go it on my own. I did alot of reading as well as testing, and put all the different slider ideas in a hat,and came out with a pretty good set (imo). I just played the Titans a short time ago,and lost a heartbreaker 21-14. I may or may not adjust more,I'll probably get another game in to see how I feel, but at this point,to have a decent slider set BEFORE December is a blessing.. I'll go ahead and post up what I've been using, feel free to let me know how they turned out,or if there not you cup of tea. I will let you guys know....against the better teams in the league you MAY have problems, but this is what I was going for. Here we go.... 12 min, 20 sec runoff on slow gamespeed Speed Threshold-65 Pass....h/c 15/10 55/10 50/80 Rush...45/65 25/100 50/45 Pass def.....15/15 5/13 95/50 Rush def......10/50 15/55 5/40 I also put fatigue and injury up to 58 for both. On long drives Parker will get subbed,as will certain receivers. I'm going to play another game, and will post stats. It's going to be against the Vikings, since they have a good defense,as well as Peterson,so it should be interesting I'll return with the stats in a short time. |
