Before I got back into Madden again, I went back to NFL 2K5 and tried to do a franchise being I still need to play football for awhile longer.... I wonder how the hell I played that game?! Aside from superior presentation, it is pale in gameplay compared to Madden. The game(2K) IMO is too broken beyond repair. Like everyone else,I dream about if this franchise stayed around and gave Madden a run for the money, no telling what we'd have now. But that is all moot .

I liked how All Pro 2k8 played. I'm not saying I like it better than Madden or that I like Madden better. Both do some things well. I like Madden's passing game and franchise features. I like 2ks running game, blocking, and MLB play. Both game still need to work on the DB play. 2k5 is not exactly the be all end all it once was. That's why some of these silly bugs and things that Madden still has stick out to some of us. If they could fix the way that the Blocking and Oline/Dline play is... There'd be a lot of happier players, even if they won't admit it. |

2K5, not 2K8 talk: Passing in Madden=Big win. The qb Ai in 5 threw like a blind bat. The int. bug was enough to make you throw the stupid disc out the window and straight into a dumpster. Running game in 5 =pretty nifty. Some good hits and the animation were not as bad as some Madden fanboys put it out to be. Presentation of 5=No comparision. I doubt Madden will ever catch up with that until the engine is rebuilt. Nuff said. DB play on Madden is alright with the patch. I see better AI passing stats post patch. Before, it was not easy to get a run over 3 yards pre-patch. The passing game in Madden is sharp now IMO. 2K5 was put on some kind of pedestal I don't get. I think 2K4 was better. But, to each his own. Edited by DC, Dec 8 2009, 07:15 AM.

You better not be talking smack about 2k5. And how dare you say 2k4 was better?!?! I was pissed at 2k5 for coop. Why? In 2k4 playing coop you could throw passes to anyone that was playing WR or TE. Then in 2k5 they gaffed that up. Anytime someone would play WR and manually run the route the pass would ALWAYS be to far past the player. Every Damn Time. It was pretty annoying. If you'd try and speed burst to catch up, no luck. It was a programing bug. When I was using Payton Manning I shouldn't be overthrowing my brother who was using Harrison EVERY DAMN TIME. Oh well. I think Madden 10 was a nice step in the right direction on all fronts. They could blow out the presentation if they wanted. They don't need a new engine for that. 2k did it on the same engine from 2k4 to 2k5. A couple guys spent a lot of time making those overlays, etc and having them fit into the game. |

First time I had seen this in a Madden game in many a year, but I got an unnecessary roughness penalty today. I hit sticked Andre Johnson out of bounds. It was a little bit of a bogus call (his foot had just come down out of bounds). Cool nonetheless. |
