Take a look at this blog and the speed of the players at the end of it. There are a bunch of charts showing the speed differential between players. I didn't realize they made them different based on difficulty level.

After reading this and seeing the videos. VERY COOL STUFF!!!

It's awesome that he explained how the "speed differential" slider will work.

Ian:
"Many may believe that speeds should always be a constant, and difficulty should be handled in other ways (I sort of straddle that line myself). But to address everyone's concerns, we just went ahead and exposed our tuning values into a "speed differential" slider into gameplay settings. If you want to play on Pro mode but want all of the players to have more realistic speeds, you can do so. If you want to play on All-Madden but want the really fast players to truly feel faster than everyone else, you can do that as well. That way hopefully everyone can be happy. :)"

Ian showed a video of how they fixed the Full Back Dive. It was too fast of an animation and the FB would be to the line of scrimmage before the defense was fully upright. It was used as an exploit. Ian said that he knows that will piss off the tournament and online players. At least he's not apologizing for it! :)

Another video he posted was the speed of the QB drop backs. Before they were to fast and now they slowed the animation down. They also tweaked how and when a sack animation will trigger so this would the QB drop back could be realistic. It also gives time for the WR's to run proper routes.

Summary of the Blog

* Removal of arbitrary animation speed alterations; solve bugs the 'right' way
* All new QB drop animations
* Lowered pass speeds globally, fixed "moon ball" trajectory
* Lowered global game speed + added game speed slider
* New slider for "speed difference" to squish or expand the range of speeds among all players; used the ratings ranges for player speeds
