I am digging this demo so freaking much. I want A.D. now though! He will be great to run with! And Boldin is a beast for me.

Well, after playing the 1 min demo......I can honestly say...THIS GAME ROCKS!! :headbang: :headbang:
Playing on all-pro,as both teams....I witnessed so many cool animations, and things that were not present in 09,it's like night and day.

The throwing animations for both Romo and Manning are amazing, they both throw like their real life counter parts, the running game is absolutely fantastic, coupled with the slower game speed, really allows you to see your running lanes open or close. The overthrow, behind the receiver or to much lead is very well implemented, especially when you "lay the lumber".

Suction blocking??....using the right stick (w/no speed burst) this is a non-issue....I was able to get pressure as well as sacks with both teams...Imo,timing is more crucial this year,as you can't just speed burst and expect to get to the qb.....you really have to time WHEN to use the burst along with the r stick.

This is just going by a demo to demo comparison.....but compared to the NCAA demo,Madden felt much more complete from gameplay, graphics and presentation. I would have been ashamed to release what they did in comparison to the Madden demo.

The details are simply stunning as well....from the handwarmers, animated towels...to the cutscene of seeing either coach yelling at the receiver for either dropping the ball or messing up his route.

I will say though....in comparison to last years game? there really is no comparison, this year I really feel the "connection" with the action on the field, and with the amped up presentation, this is really a thing of beauty.

All in all.....based on the demo alone I would easily give this game a 9/10
The only thing that really bothered me was the fg's.....I mean both teams were missing fg's that were WELL within their range, and in most cases falling short by about 5-10 yds...which led to some returns from the endzone....but these should've been easily made fg's

But I'm sure that sliders should take care of this issue.....but in the grand scheme of things....I'm not even worried at this point.

In closing....COME ON AUG 14th!!!!! :headbang: :headbang:

MM,

At least the FGs are missing unlike NCAA10 where the default has the College kickers hitting 50yrd field goals with ease.

The other thing is that EA was basing missed FGs off of stats for this year. It's not always automatic, unless you're one of those kickers.

I went to my brother’s house last night and played around three games of the one-minute demo, which means I barely played the thing! One-minute quarters really suck. No flow at all to the game. Hank was down 7-0 at the half and the cpu comes out and starts milking the clock at the start of the third quarter! You have to burn time outs at the beginning of the half just to try to touch the ball! Other than difficulty settings there really wasn’t much you could play with.

Good stuff

I really do like the added presentation. From the cut scenes to the stat overlays, this was nice. The graphics and sound were great. You could really hear the crowd in terms of chants and individual stuff they would say. Saw Romo slip on a drop back which was nice. The demo was pretty darn polished overall – much more polished and better looking than the NCAA demo.

Pro-tak was cool. You got to see some nice broken tackles and the game looked good. I broke out of a tackle where two guys were on Jacobs and took it to the house. DBs dropped picks on default quite a bit – I don’t think I’ll be messing with the INT slider. Overall I liked the default settings on the demo for All-Pro.

The momentum of the players feels more realistic than in NCAA. Only time will tell if this means more fun but it makes playing defense a lot better imo. Players have weight and you can’t just turn on a dime. They aren’t as twitchy. It just feels smoother and better when manually defending the pass. You can still juke guys and I juked a couple guys out of their shorts in my limited time so that isn’t a concern.

Some of the offensive and defensive plays in certain formations looked very similar to the NCAA playbook so I felt pretty comfortable. But there were also a bunch of plays in different formations that I hadn’t seen.

Negative Stuff

Not a big fan of the slow game speed. I wish the demo gave you an option to try the faster speeds but I know the retail version has it. It was nice on defense and runs up the middle. You can really see what’s going on. It also helps you read the defense. But my biggest beef is how you feel in the open field. On kickoff returns and long plays, the players just don’t feel fast and they should. I played a game of NCAA ’09 when I got home and that speed felt much better to me.

I felt the passing speeds were too fast in NCAA ’10 but in Madden ’10 they might be too slow. I don’t mind it on the short and intermediate stuff but on the long passes the ball seemed to hang forever. Am I not supposed to lob those anymore? Maybe I’m just doing something wrong. I didn't like the red circle indicating where the ball will land on passes. I hope you can turn that off. Again, I just need a lot more time with the game to really see stuff.

I really hope the replay system will allow me to view the entire play in the retail copy. I’m sure the highlights will let you. On my nice long TD run with Jacobs, I wanted to see how I busted out of those two tackles but the replay started right at the end of that so I couldn’t see anything.

I like the r-stick moves on the DL and I made some nice moves but is all the cool stuff on the interior? For those with more play time and better experience on the DL, is it possible to do a speed rush around an OT and get pressure on the QB without fully engaging the OT? This is something the 2K engine did very well and the EA engine has always struggled with.

Overall

I’ll be downloading the demo again next week for my PS3 and get more time with it. I’ll certainly be checking out the retail version. The demo didn’t disappoint me but it didn’t blow me away either. No one-minute football demo could do that. I have no clue how the cpu AI really is after last night.

I should add that seeing the refs on the field surprised me. Who are all those defenders out there? Oh, that's a ref!
