I agree. I think the speed of the game is unrelated to the player physics and momentum. I prefer a faster gameplay like NCAA but also have the extra momentum that Madden introduced.

The funny thing is that there is a clear divide between the EA developers. In the supporters section, Ian asked people in the MADDEN forum what they thought of NCAA 10. He didn't bash the game as you could tell he was holding back. He just said it was fun but felt too fast and didn't like the player physics as much but alluded to that being "intentional". Adam Thompson then started a "What do you think of the Madden demo?" thread in the NCAA supporters section stating it felt way too slow. Definitely some inner competition going on.

Well of course they do. People are almost always going to think the work that they've done is better than what someone else has done. Otherwise you would've done it differently.

I'm not sure if they are screwing around. I think there's some truth to what they say.

Both spend months plugging away at their games. So going to play something that's 20% faster OR slower would be a bit of a "whoa."

And of course both teams like what they have.

Hopefully next year BOTH games have the gamespeed sliders.
