This is great to allow people to customize the game themselves. Ian says he likes NCAA but finds it too fast after playing Madden. This includes both the players and the pass speeds. He also said that Madden players have more momentum and can't change directions as quickly. Personally, I like faster game speeds but still with momentum.

But the Madden team gives us options! Directly from Ian on OS:

There are 5 options - Very Slow, Slow, Normal, Fast, and Very Fast.

Very Slow = 13% less than last year (I actually like playing on this mode sometimes...it's SO much easier when you have time to pick a hole or find a WR)

Slow = 9% less than last year (default offline setting out of the box)

Normal = 5% less than last year (default online setting)

Fast = Same as last year (and the same as NCAA 10)

Very Fast = 5% faster than NCAA 10 / Madden 09

You can never, ever go wrong giving users as many options as possible. That's why it is so nice to finally have such things as speed and fumble sliders this year in Madden. Too cool. I hope NCAA incorporates these features next year.

Options that WORK are always a plus! And it's nice that Ian has really gone out of his way to make sure his team gives the Madden gamers a lot of controls.

The CASUAL gamer will play it on the default level and not really care beyond that, but now it appears they are giving the growing "hardcore" football gamer some stuff to play with to make them happier since this is a growing base.
