I just thought about it, I think part of the reason I'm having so much success stopping the run is because I keep my D-line set to aggresive to get a pass rush. So they're jumping the snap every play to get to the RB. Not sure what to do about this. Ugh I hope the sliders work. If they do, I'm buying (for a reduced price, of course).
This makes perfect sense. And it's typical EA. Real Bummer. I wouldn't have my hopes too high about the sliders fixing anything too much.

I had a chance to play a little bit today at work.
My impressions are going to be very brief,as I only had a chance to play a half.

But going on what I played,to me...this game was nothing more than average. Sure,I seen alot of different animations, some cool and others were wtf.

I played on a ps3,and I thought the graphics were VERY jagged and rough, except during a player closeup...then they looked pretty good.
The line play was atrocious, using Ohio State against Illinois.....I wasn't able to get pressure hardly at all, unless I blitzed...but this opened itself up to the qb being able to zing the pass off his backfoot into coverage for a completion.

The overall atmosphere was laughable at best...this is college football dammit!....where's the emotion,pagentry....by halftime I was glad I was done,as I felt bored to tears, pretty much the same way I felt the last few years. I KNOW this game would not hold me till Madden drops.....I felt very disconnected with the action on the field.

The running game felt pretty good for the user, but again..the cpu could not generate any kind of ground attack.
Rudy...I gotta tell ya,if you do decide to get this game,I hope you have some patience. While I'm sure I didn't get to see the "whole ball of wax".....for me....I seen enough to know that I wouldn't enjoy this one.

If the sliders even work as well as they did last year, I think this game would be great. I got 6 sacks in the first half of a game against Michigan. Constant pressure on the QB. So if they work like they did last year, I can drop pass block, stop using jump the snap, raise cpu run block, and it's probably going to be pretty good. I don't need uber-effective sliders, I just need what we got last year.

I have no problem waiting for the patch and renting first after seeing some of these Madden videos. I love presentation and Madden looks awesome. I thought I would really like player lock in NCAA but I hated it in the demo as the camera made it hard to play.

The gameplan strategy stuff has a lot of stuff I don't know if I like. Guessing run to the right is nice for the kids but that should just translate into slanting your DL or shifting your LBs (which I do already to stuff the lousy cpu run game).

I do think I will like NCAA 10 if I get accustomed to the camera angle. But I also have a feeling I may love Madden and I may just wait for that. For some reason I seem to have gained some extra willpower. Plus the fact that I had a long layoff with '09 and am enjoying that despite it's issues may give me strength. I'm curious to see the run game since many have said it's better.

But the sliders better damn well work. If the cpu can't mount a rushing attack I will definitely pass on NCAA 10. I'm really sick of guys thinking the cpu is running well when they never rush for over 100 yards unless there is a big run. Back on the PS2 I could set the sliders so the cpu OL blew my DL off the ball. Never saw that last year. I still remember my 2nd year with Ole Miss in NCAA 06 or 07 where I was last in the SEC in rushing defense after losing a bunch of guys in my front seven and having a terrible defense (the team started out fairly bad too). I want to be able to recreate that again.

I did get another game in this evening and another thing that bothers me is that the presentation is so lacking. This is a college game damnit, and it feels like to the equivalent of watching paint dry at times. Adam really needs to have a talk with Ian and his team, because the stat overlays and replays lacking in this game are starting to piss me off.

I guess this will hold me over till Madden and then I will probably do the $40 trade-in promo. I have been more of an NFL guy, but have bought NCAA every year which would last me till October.......I know once I start playing Madden this year, going back to this game with a total lack of presentation will make me go bonkers.

The camera angle is not bad and after a few games you really get used to it. I have played enough of Road To Glory and a handful of play now games now the camera isn't bothering me. Road To Glory is cool so far, but you see how much this one hurts in the presentation department also............especially at the beginning with High School. Granted the High School tournament is there for getting you into a college, but I wish more was done with it. Albeit that, I really think it is so cool how when you select your city, they choose other high school cities in your area. I found that to be really neat.
