Rhombic still doesn't like the new camera angle although it appears others are adjusting. As for online - it looks to be much more balanced as the running game is much more valuable and the game is more defensive period. I don't care about online but this might be good for others.

So far nobody has really had any negative impressions on OS. That has to be a good sign. Hopefully the forums don't go to hell when the negative ones start rolling in.
Keep this in mind Rudy.....you and I have BOTH been around long enough to know this is still the "honeymoon" or "new car smell" phase, this happens every year with the football releases.

I would give it probably 2-3 weeks after the release date, when more cats have it to form any kind of serious conclusion. Although you WILL have to wade through the bs to get a real feeling for the game, but I also look at the things that people complain about as well.

Here's how it's played out year to year
1-people get the game early.....OS vets as well as noobs are all glowing with child like giddyness
2-game releases to the masses....game is still in "new car smell" mode...
3-OS vets start noticing issues....noobs meanwhile chalk it up as "being to picky"
4-After multiple slider adjustments.....most have realized it's the same thing, and sliders won't help the issues.
5-Noobs have either left the forums,or continue to bitch about EA.....OS vets TRY to make the best of things...till either Madden drops,or they move on to something else.....

Rinse and repeat next year :waytogo:

I totally agree MM. The killer number of picks in NCAA 08 weren't readily available. New car smell is definitely going on. That's why when the patch comes out in a couple weeks I'll be able to read a more balanced set of impressions. Can't judge a game by the first 5 games you play but rather games 15-20. But at least the first impressions are good rather than bad.

I agree Rudy,I believe the patch(s) will determine ALOT for most.
I'm still reading that the pass rush is still an issue....now will EA actually have effective sliders?
I believe that's the key.....I'm sure they'll patch them,but to what degree??

IMO....they should be so effective, that if I set pass block for the cpu at 0,and my break block at 100....I should get a sack everytime. Also if I set the cpu wr catch at 0,they should drop every damn thing.

I'm just beginning to think that the sliders will have minimal effect,as it's more coded into the game the way they (EA Tiburon) feel it should play. I believe until we actually get sliders that effect the game like I mentioned,we're at the mercy of the programmers.

I'm not trying to sound harsh or anything when I say this (so please don't take it as such)
But aren't the first impressions usually good?.....

I can honestly remember the same stuff from 08 and 09.....the first impressions were all rosie, that was until everybody spent more time with the game(s),and realized that sliders couldn't fix alot of the main issues.

I do apologize if I'm sounding harsh in anyway.....I'm not trying to deter you (or anybody else) from picking up the game. It's just that I'm having flashbacks to previous years, and see ALL the same stuff happening....the only difference is the year.
Hell,I was thinking about picking this game up as well,as I have some games that I don't play anymore, and could use them as trade, but I'm having pretty good success in 08 with not having any pics,so I'll more than likely ride that till Madden.
