Despite the win against a 94 rated, A Georgia Tech, I fall to #11! They were unranked and after checking the polls, all ten teams in front of me are undefeated so I'll let that slide. After getting two initial commits from two 4* CBs, I don't have any other committments but I have a few guys with soft commits. But it's awful close on some top prospects I really want. This next week or two will be huge for me. I checked on the Heisman hopefuls and Cooper is not among them. Not sure if he was before I lost my game. But he does have over 1000 yards rushing and 10 TDs through 7 games. If I keep this pace up I would think I would definitely get consideration down the stretch. |

Falling to 11 is kind of crazy considering your record. But if everyone in front of you is undefeated It's only a matter of time before you move up. |

5-2 North Carolina @ 6-1, #11 Miami Miami overcomes a sluggish first half to put away the Tar Heels in a 38-19 victory. Graig Cooper became the all time leading rusher at Miami and led the team to victory. Miami opened the game with a kickoff return for TD by Byrd. The Canes defense didn't play that well in the first half and Miami was actually down 17-16 but Cooper ran well and the defense got a pick 6 in the second half to walk away with an easy win. Here is one of the many nice runs Cooper had in this game. Defensively, OLB J.Futch had a monster game with 12 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks. Sean Spence only had one tackle. Miami Stats J.Harris 9-13, 69%, 82 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 0 sacks G.Cooper 24-153 6.3 ypc, 3 TD NC Stats T.Yates 20-31 64%, 209 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 5 sacks (team actually got a 6th sack against backup) J.Taylor 19-84 4.4 ypc, 1 TD |

Heisman Watch Only one HB is in the top 5 and it's Georgia's Caleb King who only has 795 yards rushing. But Georgia is ranked in the Top 2. Graig Cooper isn't in the Top 5 despite leading the NCAA in rushing right now with 1267 yards through 8 games. He's also tied for second with 14 TDs. I guess he won't get more consideration unless I win the rest of my games. Recruiting Haul! Following the victory against North Carolina, 4 recruits signed! And not just any recruits. A 5* MLB, a 5* DE and a 5* HB (all ranked #1 at their position I think). I also got one of the top guards, a 4* player. I've got a few close calls left. Another 5* DE is close to signing as is another 4* guard and 4* TE although the tight end is far from a sure thing. I've got three great DEs on my roster right now but one is a senior and the other two are juniors (who could go pro). Both 5* DEs would be starters in their second year and one may even start right away. I'm really glad I got that guard since I have only one half decent sophomore on the roster and nothing special behind him. Center still looks to be an issue in the future. |

6-2 Virginia Tech @ 7-1 #11 Miami Miami beats VT 27-7 behind great defense, enough offense and no 4th down conversions for VT. They went for it on 4th down five times and were unsuccessful all five times. One was a punt fake, a couple were aggressive calls and then they had to at the end of the game. Miami goes to 8-1 and moves up one spot to #10. J.Harris was 14-19 for 158 yards, 0 TD and 1 INT. Graig Cooper failed to crack 100 yards but still rushed 21 times for 95 yards and 1 TD. The VT RB only had 16 carries for 31 yards. VT also had a couple QBs hurt and the third stringer went 14-32 for only 43%, 166 yards, 0 TD and 2 INT. The video file I wanted to load failed and at this point I'm pretty annoyed with EASW. These reports are going to get smaller as I'm getting more tired of EASW and this Miami team isn't as fun to play with anymore since they are too good. Only a few elite matchups and year and the rest are games I should win. I will start a new dynasty at the end of this year (almost sure I will). After the game I got a 5* DE, 4* TE and 3* Center to commit. I have the number one recruiting class by far with 4 5* and 4 4* players. Nobody has more than 1 5* player at this point or 2 4* players. I'm recruiting magic in this game! But I do think Miss. St. or some crappy SEC school is calling for my skills. |
