Week 2 - Miami at #5 Florida

Still stinging after a devastating OT loss to Illinois, Miami traveled to their rivals and played a great game against Florida in the pouring rain (#10, 880 score roughly). I would say that Miami actually dominated this game but a few turnovers and three big plays by Florida brought this game down to the final gun. Florida's offense did little and punted 6 times. The game was 14-10 going into the final quarter and I scored a TD in the 4th to make it 21-10. The game was mine!

Early long pass down the sideline:

But after forcing a Florida punt, my returner fumbled the ball and they returned it for a TD and got the 2 point conversion! Rudy's pissed! I do nothing with the ball and then Chris Rainey dose one thing all game long.

Now I'm down 25-21 late with a couple minutes left in the game. But I march down the field and I get inside the 20 yard line. Jacoby Harris gets hurt but Marvelous Marve comes in. Florida blitzes a CB.

Miami scores! I go up 28-25. But that's not the game as there is 55 seconds left and Tebow mounts a comeback. They march down and with two seconds left, set up a 48 yard field goal. (I actually saved this but didn't have time to load it). They miss wide left! Miami wins 28-25!!

Jacoby Harris: 21-34, 218 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT
Cooper (got hurt) 15-43 yards
Javarris James 23-110 2 TD (player of the game!)

Tebow 14-21 103 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT (his backup threw one long TD pass and burned a blitz I called when he missed one play)

I'm now 1-1 and have a bye week. Iowa comes to town next.

Rudy, could you bench Tebow on behalf of my honor?

I had no control over that but did knock Tebow out of the game briefly!

Week 3 - Iowa @ Miami

This game was a bit ugly in the first half as nobody scored an offensive TD. The game was tied 10-10 at the half. Iowa scored first on a kick return for TD.

Iowa was driving in the first half but this wasn't what they were hoping for.

I had a ball bounce off my TEs hands into a defender for a pick. I also had a slightly overthrown ball to Benjamin on a deep route that would have been a TD. I then had a WR drop the ball at the 1 yard line and on the next play threw a pick in the end zone before the end of the first half. Ugly all around.

The second half was more offensive. I threw a couple TD passes including a nice corner route.

I also put myself up by 14 with a nice kick return for a TD. Benjamin has wheels and was awarded player of the game for his 2 TDs.

Iowa did score with 2 minutes to go to close to 38-31 but I killed out the clock and that was the final score. Miami wins!

Miami wins 38-31 and goes to 2-1. I'm still unranked and have no committments from recruits. Both teams had 16 first downs in this game. My defense is really good and held Shonn Green to only 68 yards (he did get at least 100 yards in every game last year for Iowa).

J.Harris 17-26, 206 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT
James 29-105 1 TD, (Cooper should be back next week)
4 drops for my WRs today

Christenson played more than Stanzi but they rotated them.
Christenson 22-28 151 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT
Stanzi 3-7 37 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Shonn Green 18-68, 0 TDs

My next game is hosting North Carolina with a big showdown against FSU the following week.
