I'm 9-1 now and ranked #14! But Georgia lost for a second time and is now #15. I play them in my last game. I do get a shot at #2 Clemson in the ACC Championship. That game is already locked up as both myself and Clemson are way up in our divisions. At worst I got 7-1 if I lose at home to NC State.
Hell yeah on the #14 rating!!!!

Should be cool to see how your season turns out.

8-2 North Carolina St. @ #14 9-1 Miami

The Wolfpack might have come in to this game with a good record but the Hurricanes left them feeling much worse. The Hurricanes shut out NC State 38-0 in a game that was never close. The game started off with Travis Benjamin returning the opening kickoff for a TD. He had a long dry spell without a TD as teams were kicking away from him. The game was never in doubt.

The Hurricanes got many big plays in this game to destroy them and the defense simply suffocated the Wolfpack. I overran the QB on one play but came back and smoked him for a fumble.

The only other turnover on the day was an INT they threw in the 4th quarter. There were a lot of big offensive plays from a deep pass to Shields and a long run by back up Lamar Thomas. Here is a swing pass James turned into a TD.

Not much else to say other than Georgia is up next. I have moved to 10-1 but am still ranked only #14. A national championship is out of the question but a victory over Clemson in the ACC Championship would satisfy all of my coaching goals and get me into the BCS.

Miami Stats
J.Harris 13-17, 219 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 2 sacks
J.James 19-75 yards, 1 TD plus 2 catches for 94 yards (72 yard TD rec)
L.Miller 14-112 yards, 1 TD (76 yard TD run)

NC State
H.Beck 10-14, 72 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 4 sacks, 7 carries for 10 yards
J.Eugene 11-50 yards, 0 TD

Recruiting

A 4* DT with a lot of potential finally hard committed. I was leading by a lot for a long time. I didn't lose any recruits but gained a little ground on the FS who has WVU #1. I have about 4 recruits coming in for the Georgia game.

Miami Defense Stats
The defense has led this team all season. They are ranked #15 overall and have the #12 rush defense and #16 pass defense in the country.

#15 Georgia is next.

#15 Georgia 9-2 @ #14 Miami 10-1

Is it possible to overcome 6 INTs by your quarterbacks and still win a game. Yes!! But it doesn't mean it will always happen.

Miami scored on the first possession of the game.

But that would be the only good thing to happen to Miami in the first half. On the next possession Georgia hit a deep post against double coverage for a long TD pass. Then one of three INTs in the second quarter by Jacory Harris led to a 52 yard TD run by Caleb King. Harris got benched for Cannon Smith who actually was much worse. The score at the half was 21-7 Georgia.

After halftime the Hurricanes QB continued throwing picks - they wanted to preserve the punter's leg!! None were returned for TDs but three of the picks were just inaccurate throws to open receivers. A couple other picks were the DBs jumping corner routes. I didn't even feel like I forced the ball too bad. Just errant throws and/or great plays by the defense. But Georgia let Miami back in when trying to punch a TD in from the 1 on 4th down. I stopped them to keep the lead at 28-7. I then moved the ball and James broke a long screen pass to cut it to 28-14 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

With 4 minutes to go, Arthur Brown brought back an INT for a TD to cut it to 28-21.

This was the only pick the Georgia QB threw all day but it brought me to within 7. My defense played great in the second half and with 1:30 to go, James broke a long TD run to tie it at 28-28!

Despite throwing 6 INTs and losing a fumble, Miami had tied the game and with the defense holding, the game was headed to OT!

We both scored TDs in the first OT and I scored a TD first in the second OT. But on 3rd and 4 from my 7 in the second OT, Georgia tied it on this nice jump ball. My impact CB did nothing all game.

Unfortunately the magic ended there. Georgia scored a TD in the third OT but failed on the two point conversion. I got sacked twice and couldn't score to win. Miami loses 48-42 in triple OT. No greatest game score though. That's crap! I end the year at 10-2 and ranked #19.

I'm running late so I'll post some stats from work.

Stats from the Georgia heart breaking game:

Miami Stats

J.Harris 16-26, 61%, 215 yards, 2 TD, 4 INT, 3 sacks
C.Smith 1-5, 20%, -2 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT, 2 sacks

J.James 38-183, 4.8 ypc, 3 TD
I must say that James is a workhorse. Rarely left the field. Only had 57 yards on 17 carries at the half too.

A.Brown (ILB) 11 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, INT returned for TD

Georgia
A.Murray 28-36, 77%, 301 yards, 5 TD, 1 INT, 4 sacks
C.King 25-95, 52 yard TD

My defense didn't play very well in the first half, played great in the second half and made no stops in OT. Georgia was 8 of 17 on 3rd downs but 0-2 on 4th downs and they did have to punt 6 times. I only punted twice since I turned the ball over 7 times!

I did have a 4* OLB commit after the game but also lost out on a blocking TE to Florida. I have a bye week for the final week before I take on Clemson for the ACC Championship. This game is huge as a win would cement me as the ACC Champion as well as a Top 25 finish and January bowl game. All requirements of me by the Board.

Still can't believe I didn't get a greatest game score for this game.

Miami End of Season Statistics

J.Harris 91-138, 65%, 1129 yards, 8 TD, 9 INT, 14 sacks (he did play with a slight groin pull the last few games - listed as probable)
C.Smith 76-120, 63%, 808 yards, 6 TD, 10 INT, 16 sacks

J.James 211-895 yards, 4.2 ypc, 18 TD, 2 fumbles
G.Cooper 137-816, 5.9 ypc, 5 TD, 5 fumbles (got hurt and lost impact status to CB)
L.Miller 49-245, 5.0 ypc, 2 TD

S.Shields 41-569 yards, 13.8 ypc, 4 TD
D. Epps (TE) 28-221, 7.8 ypc, 0 TD
T.Benjamin 22-402, 18.2 ypc, 3 TD
A.Johnson 21-225, 10.7, 3 TD
This is the first time in a long time that my slot WR didn't have more catches than at least one of my starting WRs and Benjamin missed a little bit of time with injuries. He missed 2 quarters of the Georgia game as well.

A.Brown (ILB) 78 tackles (led team), 17 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 3 INT
S.Spence (OLB) 47 tackles, 18 tackles for loss (led team), 3 sacks, 0 INT
E.Moncur (DE) 36 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 6 sacks (led team), 0 INT
4 players tied for 3 INT

I'll try to get some team rankings before I play Clemson. It's the easiest way to grab team stats by looking at the team preview. My defense was the best against the run I think in the ACC. I was 5th in sacks with 29 and led the league with 19 INT (second was 18).
