That OSU game was frustrating. While the coaches don't have me in the Top 25, the Media has me at #24! They aren't so heavily influenced by the preseason polls. Here are some vids from BC. Cannon Smith's first TD pass was a nice post route with no safety help to Benjamin. One of Cooper's two TD runs on a great day. He has over 550 yards rushing in 5 games and 5 TDs. This run was nothing special - mainly bad defense by BC and a nice juke for the TD. BC's only TD came on a nice spin move and pure speed to the endzone. After my 6th game (Duke next) I will give some mid season stats for my team. |

Duke 2-3 @ Miami 4-1 Miami was looking to trounce an overmatched opponent at home (82 overall compared to low 90s for Miami) but Duke would not give in so easily. The Duke defense did a really good job of containing the Miami ground attack in the first half. Miami was able to drive late in the half to pick up a FG before halftime and enjoy a 13-3 halftime lead. The last drive included this questionable catch that Duke did not challenge. Despite leading 13-3 at the half and getting the ball to start the second half, the Hurricanes blew the lead by throwing two picks to start the half. Duke tied the game at 13-13 but on the very next play Miami returned the kickoff for an easy TD. That gave Miami a 20-13 lead and some nice breathing room. Miami finally got the ground game going in the 4th quarter as Cooper probably didn't have 30 yards going into the 4th but had some nice runs to close out the game. Miami had a 34-13 lead until Duke scored with little time left to make the final score of 34-20 look more respectable. Jacory Harris left in the 3rd quarter with a groin injury and will be out another 3 weeks after just missing a couple weeks. Perhaps he was rushed back too soon? Miami Stats J.Harris 10-15, 114 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT C.Smith 1-3, 13 yards G.Cooper 20-120 J.James 12-20 3 TDs (I like to use him in short yardage) S.Shields 4 catches for 52 yards Duke T.Lewis 15-28, 136 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT P.Jackson 16-55, 1 TD Up next, rematch @ FSU who is an A team but struggling with a 2-3 record. Miami is now ranked at #24 in both polls! |

Looks like the season is going well outside of the Ohio State game. |
