I may skip NCAA for the first time since 1997. Now that speaks volumes. They need someone with the same commitment that Ian brought to Madden. But NCAA has always been treated like Madden's redheaded stepchild. It's a damn shame; I like college football more than pro. Madden is a must buy for me this year. |

I had already planned on skipping this years title,I was only gonna rent for the rosters...but man! If there this screwed up,I may pass on the rental also....this is really ridiculous. I really feel bad for our brother Rudy.....as big a fan of the NCAA titles as he is,this has to be a serious blow for him. The differences between this and Madden are like night and day....I really think the NCAA team just doesn't get "it". |

The last few years of the PS2/Xbox NCAA football was the better game by far. And it was better than Madden for a few seasons on the PS3/360 as well. But now... Really. The team behind NCAA could have put more time into things instead of putting so much time into season showdown. I don't buy the excuse of "Madden gets all the new tech" because even when Madden had the new stuff on the PS2/Xbox versions NCAA was the better playing game. |

The last version of NCAA I had played on last gen,was 06,I do remember that one being very good....it was alot better than 05 (remember the dropsies?) I had gotten my 360 in between, and I got rid of my original xbox,so I didn't get a chance to check out the later ones. The move to the new consoles has not been a "smooth transition" by any means for either game, but Madden finally looks to be putting it together (finally) I just really have to question the direction of this series, and the direction of the devs. I mean seriously??...season showdown??? It just seems the NCAA devs are more content just to put in "fluff",than to get the gameplay up to snuff. |

I think you nailed it on the head. The NCAA team just doesn't get it. They put all their focus on Season Showdown and Teambuilder and didn't try to adopt a lot of the new gameplay stuff Madden had because they didn't have time because of the fluff. I asked Adam Thompson (formerly OMT) on OS a couple months ago about a couple things. 1 - Why weren't the new QB accuracy ratings (short, medium, deep) not in NCAA? Answer (after a little smokescreen) - they didn't have time to add it because of working on other things (probably Showdown) 2 - Was NCAA adopting the new momentum system Madden is using? Answer - not completely. They didn't like it (ie, they like arcade turn on a dime stuff over realism). When the developer for NCAA goes on a video blog and says they added Season Showdown to add replayability to the game I just shake my head. Ian says he adds great presentation and gameplay stuff to make the game better - this adds longevity to a title. The Madden team fully gets it. The NCAA team is lost and stupid and needs a new leader. I'm absolutely convinced of that. |
