Game 3 a nail biter but Phillips HR in bottom of 8th gives the Reds a 5-3 win! Aaron Harang pitched 8 good innings and wouldn't leave the game until he got a win. Jay Bruce only got one hit but it was a two run HR over 400 feet to right-center. Dickerson had a clutch hit to tie the game at 3-3. Then in the bottom of the 8th, Dickerson worked Gagne for a walk and then Phillips drove a 2-0 fastball to right field for the winning HR. Not many hits by either team in this game and two more throwing errors for my team but it was nice to get the win. Cordero was unavailable to close due to heavier work in game two so Rhodes came in to get Fielder out and stayed in the game for his first save. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Just a quick comment, my slider file has a date of March 25, 2009. I settled in pretty early on what worked for me and I think I made one minor change in my season. But most of the season has been played under the exact same settings. Part of that is some sliders are minimized (or maxed out) so it makes it easy not to touch. The other part is that while I love sliders, I don't want to constantly play with them either. Recognize what works, what doesn't and what makes the game fun and balanced. No slider set will ever be perfect so I've been content with playing with this one for a long time. Also, Zach Duke will be bumped up for the final game against the Brewers. I want to use the left against Prince Fielder and a couple other lefties in their lineup. |

Reds beat Brewers 5-0 for Series Win! Zach Duke pitched much better in his second start in a Reds uniform and went 6 strong innings. He really ran out of gas in the 6th but was able to finish it. David Weathers had his best outing in seemingly forever as he went 3 full innings of relief for the save. Amazingly, it got his ERA back under 6. Jeff Larish had a big game off the bench getting three hits and hitting his first HR of the year. Jay Bruce cooled off a bit but still had one hit. The Dodgers are up next. ![]() ![]() ![]()

The series stats shows that the Reds used the long ball to help beat the Brewers. Edwin Encarnacion is still 2-3 weeks away from returning. A tough series against the Dodgers and then I face the Cubs before I get a day off.![]() ![]()

Reds win 4th in a row! Beat Dodgers 7-1 Micah Owings won his 4th straight and Votto chipped in with a HR and 4 RBI. Raburn also had 4 hits as the fans at Dodger stadium filed out early (and criticized by Dave Campbell). Manny misplayed a fly ball in LF and this was a nice win for the Reds. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (Before the game rankings) ![]() |
