Thanks Ralph. Last year I played a ton of the 09 demo. I'm hoping I will keep playing this up to the time 10 comes out. I really do want to finish a full season but to do that I might have to delay purchasing '10. That might not be so bad - I'll wait for a deal. Who knows? Depends on the demo I guess and how much fielding has improved. Anyways, back to the All-Star game! I just loaded the All-Star game and hope to play it soon. Only Votto made the team. I think Volquez or Cueto had a case but when you are 8 games under .500 it's hard to argue. |

Well I played a part of the All-Star game. Just wanted to see how it was. I played the first two innings and it was 0-0 so I just fast forwarded to the 9th inning. The NL was down 1-0 and only had two hits. Then I pitched and gave up two runs and was down 3-0. The AL brought in Rivera and I thought I was done. Not so!! I got 5 straight hits off him!! The first three loaded the bases. Then I hit a single that cashed two runs in. Then Milton Bradley pinch hit and hit a double. Richie Weeks tried to score from first but was thrown out at the plate. I tried to save the replay but it kept screwing up and then it wouldn't let me save replays anymore. The save screenshot bugged up too. I didn't score and I had a guy in scoring position in the 10th (leadoff double), 11th and finally knocked in the winning run in the 12th to win 4-3. I got two at bats with Votto but went 0-2 with him. I'll resume with the Reds hopefully tomorrow but this weekend is a bit crazy. |

Reds begin 4 game series against Brewers with a 6-4 loss Some lousy breaks and lousy playing doomed the Reds at the beginning of the game. Starting with a high fly ball to shallow right center that neither Gomes or Bruce took charge of resulted in two unearned runs in the 4th (scored earned in the game but I know better - see video below) led to a frustrating game. I simply couldn't tell which outfielder I had and kept switching back and forth until I finally settled on Bruce only to have the ball bounce next to me. My bats were silent until late in the game when Jeff Kepinger hit his first home run of the year. That was a three run, 341 foot HR to left that brought the Reds to 5-3 but it was never in the cards to win this one. The setup men struggled again as Burton couldn't prevent another run either. I tried to have Cueto go 5 innings but he has walked three and with the extra pitches in the 4th just ran out of gas. He came out for the 5th and served up a HR to Fielder and was yanked. Here's the miscue and forgive the poor camera work: ![]()

Game 2 - Volquez pitches a gem in a 3-1 win Edinson Volquez showed why he's the staff ace as he pitched seven strong innings and only allowed one unearned run (Raburn throwing error). Jay Bruce has heated up since the break. After two hits yesterday he had three more hits today and a HR. Hopefully this is a good sign. Cordero had one of his longest outings as I brought him in the 8th to face the heart of the order. Got another save. ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by Rudy, Jan 24 2010, 03:42 PM.
