Mets Sweep Reds, Lose final game 6-2

After playing great and sweeping Philly, the Reds stink up the joint in New York. Not a good way to go into the All-Star break. Zach Duke only went 4 1/3 innings and got roughed up early as he allowed a 2 run HR in the first inning. He couldn't locate his fastball but battled well in his first appearance in a Red uniform. Aaron Harang came out of the bullpen to really pitch well and keep the game close. With the 3 day break, most pitchers were available. Unfortunately the Reds offense stunk as the Mets started Kelly Gregg and largely shut down the Reds who were either swinging at bad pitches or being unlucky on the good pitches.

The Reds did battle to a 3-2 deficit half way through the 8th but the Mets cashed in three runs with two outs in the bottom of the 8th to help finish them off. I didn't deserve to win anyways. Thames snapped out of his HR-less drought though and has 20 going into the break.

All-Star Break and AL Standings. Note that Rookie Chris Dickerson is the leading rookie of the year candidate. Nice! I start him in CF although he's listed as a LF.

I'm going to play the All-Star game but I don't know who will be on the team. I have never played it before but I'm assuming they will have at least one player for each team. I'm guessing Volquez or Votto. Brandon Phillips might have been a lock if he didn't miss so much time due to injury. How Jay Bruce is getting many votes is beyond me.

thanks for the updates Rudy, I'm not sure if I'm buying 10 but I've enjoyed following your dynasty and I wish I had your enthusiasm for seeing games through.
