Just blew the final game against the Nationals. Micah Owings came into the game 1-6 and left 1-7. He started strong but finished horrendously. Dusty Baker takes some blame for not yanking him sooner. The Reds jumped out to a 3-0 lead after home runs by Votto and Bruce kick started the scoring. And then Owings followed up by giving up 5 runs in the bottom half. The inning just started bad as he tried to field a swinging bunt from the pitcher and couldn't get to it in time to throw him out. Five runs later the Reds were down. But in the top of the 5th, the Reds scored three more times to take a 6-5 lead only to have Owings give up two more runs in the bottom of the 5th before being yanked. The Reds never got a hit in the last 4 innings against the Nats bullpen but still win the series. Now 28-32, they have a 3 game series against the Royals in inter-league play. |

60 games in and Votto has 14 HRs. He has slipped with his batting average around .268 but Bruce has certainly picked it up. He was once batting .185 and is now batting around .230 with 12 HRs. |

Ouch! That's a big plus The Show has over alot of sports game though-You never "master" it to a point where major blowouts for you are no longer possible. The Show should be the Sports GOTY.

Are you going to finish out your season and play every game Rudy? I probably would IF I had the time. Only thing is I would have so many games to play that it would overlap into the release of the next version of The Show. I know when the next one drops, I will be all over it.

I've never finished out a season. I always play every game. Stats mean a lot to me for a sport like baseball so I want to play every game and see how my guys do. I'm less picky when it comes to stats for football or baseball. I will continue to play as much as I can. I'd love to at least get to the All-Star game. The odds of me making the playoffs looks tough right now. I'm just trying to get to .500. I think I'm in 5th place. Have to start doing better in my division games. The closest I've gotten to finishing a season was '07 when I took some parental leave. I got in just over 100 games on the PS2 with a Tiger season but then bought a PS3 and got another 30 games in on a new Tiger season. I probably would have tried to finish a full year if I hadn't bought a new system. |
