I'm actually going to do a Reds season as well but I wanted to start playing some meaningful games. I won't be doing a lot of write-ups because I don't have to! The screenshot feature will make this great. I played two games today and am 1-1. Got a late victory over the Jays in game 1 and blew up in two innings in game 2 for the loss. You really have to focus when things start to unravel or they really unravel. Adam Everett is the only regular without a hit. |

Game 1 vs. Toronto: Verlander vs. Halliday Polanco got his only hit with two outs in the top of the 9th inning to drive in the winning run. Gave up two home runs. The one to Rios was a location mistake. I aimed up and in and it was the worst pitch Verlander threw all night as it ended up low and down the middle. I gave in to Vernon Wells for the other HR. Stupid. You can pitch around those guys in the order. ![]()

Game 2 vs. Toronto: Galaragga vs. McGowan I was cruising until the third inning when it fell apart for 5 runs. Couldn't get my offense going, especially after McGowan walked Granderson on four pitches to lead off the game. Robertson served up two gopher balls in relief in the 8th inning to break it open. ![]()

Game 3: Bonderman vs. Litsch Litsch leaves the game in the second inning with an injury and I got to Downs for some much needed runs. This game pissed me off more than any other game. I've got the fielding error high and balls go right through you. On a double play ball with one out, Inge had a ball go right through him (see fielding error thread for it) and instead of a double play or at least one out, they score, I get nobody out and the play is scored as a hit. I had two plays like that in the game that screwed Bonderman. He went 6 1/3 and gave up 4 runs but he really only gave up 1 or 2. Mags pulled two HRs to left. I'm loving the fact that I'm turning on HRs. Almost all of my home runs are like this now. ![]()

Game 4: Edwin Jackson vs. a tough lefty Had one bad inning with Jackson resulting in a 4-2 loss. I had the bases loaded in the top of the 8th inning with only one out but couldn't score. Guillen struck out looking and Thames popped up to the catcher. Magglio hit another home run and is on fire. Curtis had a bad game. Cabrera has only 1 hit through 4 games and is ice cold. My bullpen shut down the Jays completely after I pulled Jackson. I forgot to take a picture of the series stats at the end. I'm stupid. But I batted .238 with 32 hits and 5 HRs in the 4 game series. My pitching staff struck out 22 and had an ERA around 5.25. The Jays batted .298, hit 5 HRs and had a better ERA but the series was split 2-2. ![]() ![]() |
