It truly sucks. I wish Ian was in charge of NCAA instead of Madden. But I understand that Madden is their cash cow. Still, what the hell are the priorities for NCAA? Damned if I can figure it out, other than simply sales. But I would argue that making the game deeper would enhance sales. Madden and NCAA seem to be going in opposite directions. Madden is aiming for more realism and NCAA looks like it will be more arcade like. Sucks.

Everyone has been making excuses for NCAA as to why they weren't having the new QB ratings. OMT finally said they didn't have time to debug the extra work in the database which I thought was at least a reasonable answer until another poster called him out and said he had stated earlier that time wasn't a factor. Here is OMT's response on OS.

We didn't have time BECAUSE we went in a different direction (ie spent our time doing something else).

So basically I was right all along. There are no excuses or bugs or any other good reason as to why Madden is getting the new QB ratings and NCAA isn't. The NCAA team made a deliberate decision to do something else instead which I'm really disappointed in. The NCAA team has been focusing on crap while Ian Cummings and the Madden crew have been focusing on creating a true sim. How much more can I shake my head?

You can shake your head a lot.

From producer Greg through NCAA Strategies through OS:

"Mascot Mash Up is basically a Play Now game with an art swap (since all of the mascots are on the disc already). Yes, it will be there in NCAA Football 10 as there is no reason to remove it as the mode has very little impact on our disc space."

"We do have a new PA guy this year, we had to re-record everything (took 4 full days!) to have it ready for this year. There should be a fair amount of new TV commentary as well. We're not going to do a full re-record with Nessler, Herbstreit, and Corso, however each year we bring them in for a few days and record new lines for new features or record variants for situations that happen in the game."

"The pregame was updated some this year, but that is all I can say. I hope you like the new addition when we announce it."

"You are correct, the audio takes up a good chunk of dics space (~20% on XBox 360) so adding another [commentary] crew isn't really possible at this time (at least on the XBox 360)."

"We did not implement coaching hire/fires into Online Dynasty because the commish can change which team you control."

1. Will there be refs on the field this year?
2. Will the running animations be different (I'm hoping yes, running is choppy and doesn't feel or look right)?
3. Will the QB throw the ball correctly (If you watch replays, sometimes the ball is on top or the outside of the hand)? And will the ball rotate properly? Sorry that makes four, but I'm greedy.
----------------------------------------------
1) Unfortunately, the will not.
2) We've had many new animations added or replaced in the game this year. The running animation has been slightly updated, but is still in the process of being tuned.
3) Hopefully. There are some new throw animations this year, but they are still being worked on like the run animation.

Solidice on OS is doing a good job of updating what the NCAA team is doing (or isn't doing) in this thread.
