Adam Thompson said the pass rush in NCAA 10 works exactly as intended. Any criticisms towards it are simply subjective. That rankled a few feathers in the patch thread. One poster on OS told me over the messenger/AIM thing (whatever that is) that members of the NCAA team believe Madden will fail this year since they are catering to the hardcore too much. |

![]() They are crazy if they think it will fail. There's Madden DRONES that will buy the game even if it's a SIM. Why? They buy the game becuase it says Madden. In the same token, Madden on Rookie has ALWAYS been easy. Even 2k Football on easy is pretty easy. It's time that games start reflecting more of what you see on TV. People have no choice but to accept those changes because there's no other NFL or College game. Football is a great sport as a SIM.... hell, most sports are. That's why we love them. Turning them into a casual affair sucks ass. There's a reason that High Heat Baseball did well and survived for years. There's a market for owners that want a SIM. MLB The Show is closer to a SIM than anything else outside of High Heat on the consoles and it's selling VERY WELL on the PS3. I hope that Madden gets rave reviews from not only the hardcore but the critics. The game will sell boat loads thus the NCAA team will have to eat it. NCAA used to have the better playing football game because it felt more like football verses Madden. Madden didn't sell because it was a casual game. It sold because it's MADDEN FOOTBALL. It's about the largest IP in all of console gaming. NCAA trying to Mimick the Madden Magic hasn't worked all that well. |

I hope to hell they are wrong on that one. I think they are. Madden looks so improved right now it isn't even funny. It looks night and day better than NCAA 09/09.5. I really appreciate the efforts to make Madden more of a sim and hope that the NCAA teams is forced to go that route as well. |

I hope so too Jim. I'd hate for the hardcore to love Madden but it not sell well and change directions. I think the online franchise will be a huge draw for Madden this year. Teambuilder may be a good sell for NCAA but I'm not sure how many guys will buy that game solely for that feature. They did create 100,000 teams but so many are by the same people. I count as one of them just for checking it out and saving a few things. I never finished and won't use that team (even if I did get the game) so I think the influence of teambuilder won't be that huge. Everything NCAA focused on this year was not catering to me while Madden has done what I want. I will definitely be checking out Madden this year and NCAA looks like a clear pass. |
