NCAA 10 is not done to me, and likely won't be until we are a few weeks after July 14th. Right now I'm spending most of my days doing everything possible to help solve the roster issue. At the same time we are working on what else could go into a patch if that is our solution.

We are able to fix some stuff through patches with today's consoles, so I'm not going to stop on NCAA 10 until I absolutely have too.

Now that's not to say I'm not working on ideas and starting to write designs when I can find time for 11. After we ship NCAA 10 I'd love to get a discussion about 11 going (even though I know where the majority of the boards already stand ).

Does it bother you in any way that they are already planning for a patch? And that they know what they want to fix already. That really makes me go, "what?" I'm glad that we can patch games and all now, but it also shows that games aren't getting the same rigorous testing as before.

yea, that kinda bothers me Ted. I really have no interest in NCAA (EA Style) this time around. I'm not ready to hear their "next year everyone" speech that is coming round the bend.

There was a time-oh like back to maybe early 2000 or so, When any game with EA's name on it was a symbol of fun, great graphics and a damn good all around football game (pro or college) to look forward to. I couldn't wait to go out on release day and snap up Madden or NCAA, I was pretty sure a good season of football was waiting for me.
Now it seems that every iteration of either game induces the "are we gonna get the no vaseline again" chant.....bugs galore and no real gameplay progression worth mentioning IMO.
The game engine got a little tired on the older machines and it just seems to go deeper into the abyss of nonplayable or just boring with the new systems.
I still think about the fun I had when NCAA 03 and 04 came out, great games, although in no way perfect. They had excitement, charm and wanted me to come back for more.
I would be willing to bet there are features in those games you cannot find designed for our powerful hybrid gaming machines today. Something is wrong with the big picture.
So what's our choices? go with it and hope it is good enough to play each year-or-Don't buy it. Just in case anyone is thinking of saying "You were younger then, so it seemed more fun maybe?" doesn't cut it. A good game of football can be appreciated by anyone from 8 to whatever. I could still enjoy video football games as much as I did 10 years ago,
i'm just waiting for EA to deliver the goods. End of rant.

I think Madden is going to Deliver this year.

The patch doesn't bother me too much - that might be related to the roster issue or something the Madden team found afterwards that they could use. Russ said that they made some positive progress on the roster issue this weekend. Still not there but heading in the right direction.
