Ted, a lot of the videos are cpu vs. cpu on Heisman. Quint, there has been a lack of pass rush and an overly high completion rate so far. That may be due in part to it being cpu vs. cpu on Heisman where robo-qb may still exist. They did fix the pancake issue so that the DL aren't landing on their heads all the time but it does appear the default setting may favour the OL in pass protection too much. Another issue is that the DEs are getting upfield enough. The QB does look like he can get outside the pocket a little too easy and unfortunately there is a lot of room to run but the cpu often stops at the LOS and tries to pass still. Two of the last OS videos showed the cpu QB throwing an INT in the red zone. I know that's a tough place to throw since it's more congested but it's still a concern right now although the community day guys didn't raise it as a red flag. I really hope they fixed the cpu QB AI and that the sliders work better to possibly fix some of this stuff. Man-to-man defense may still be poor. I really hope man vs. zone is balanced this year. OL AI is still poor as if they don't have anyone to block, they turn and look at the ball. Doesn't really affect things but looks stupid. Overall there are some nice things. The cpu QB did go deep - Tebow did twice in a row and his first deep ball was off target. Corner routes in single coverage appear to be deadly so some are already speculating they could be money but corner routes without safety help ARE deadly. The cpu did a better job of managing the clock late in games but didn't really utilize the stoppage of clock on first down that well. I think people are reading into things too much sometimes. Most videos are at most 3 minutes long and it's hard to get a great read. The navy-army game at least showed a good option read by the cpu even if the option blocking still isn't textbook. Works for a video game but some people want to option off the DE and EA has you option off an outside guy or DB. EA has always had some issues with the default settings. Every year I have to reduce WR catching and QB accuracy. I haven't been able to tell how the new QB accuracy windows are working. Maddenmatrix reported from the community day that he was unhappy with how inaccurate QB could be. The fact we saw very high cpu QB completion percentages may be due to Heisman and robo QB. Not sure. The jury is still out on this game but I'm feeling better about it. Its hard to argue Madden hasn't made more strides and doesn't look better in many ways. But I don't care for the slow default game speed and am a little concerned that all the changes they are making (sounds great) might lead to more bugs or glitches. The Madden video Ian posted between the Ravens/Titans bothered me on two counts - one the game looked too slow (but Ian was playing on slow) and that the defense made no pre-snap adjustments to the offensive formation. Ian kept running Strong I and yet the Ravens defense didn't slide the LB corp over to the strong side and played as though the offensive formation was balanced. That kind of stunned me as to the lack of adjustments. We saw that done right years ago. Did they break it this year? |

Quint, I do think NCAA may have too little pass rush on default but I still think it will be a lot better this year. Madden's latest fix had to do with how they really adjusted their ratings and the old system in place. I don't know how that will affect NCAA and their rosters on the game disc are crap right now. They should have something in place when the game releases according to Jeremy Strauser. |

cdj of NCAA Strategies said he was actually impressed with how the cpu ran the offense and didn't see the big INT problem of '09 at the community day. He did play on AA against the cpu. The one thing they told the devs was that while the cpu ran the offense pretty well, they were still too ineffective at running the ball. Here is a video on OS (heisman, cpu vs cpu) where it shows a lack of pass rush but Tebow does go deep early on. http://www.operationsports.com/videoview.php?id=420 |

In this video you will see the user controlled Bama team simply misfire on a pass (just hits the ground nicely at E3) and then before the 1 minute mark you do see a nice pass rush by VT. The cpu does seem to get rid of the ball overly quick again. Here is an E3 video that has a lot of Michigan vs. OSU (user). Edited by Rudy, Jun 14 2009, 10:45 AM.

This was spammed a bit on OS but it is funny. I know those that are upset at the direction of NCAA will have a good laugh. Hitler hates NCAA Football 10: Edited by Rudy, Jun 14 2009, 10:52 AM.
