OS and Gamespot have beta copies and have both posted some videos. The longest one is an FSU-Miami one at OS. I liked them so far. The only thing really bugging me now is the lack of momentum of players. They can still turn on a dime way too easily. I feel better about it now. Still 95% sure to buy this day one. I just hope the demo doesn't suck. |

I watched 2 videos: NC/NC State and Florida/Miami. I saw a definite lack of a pass rush in both of those videos, but it is admittedly a small sample size. Rudy, you have probably watched more videos; have you see any sort of consistent pass rush? And if you have has it been because of poor human control or have the videos been CPU vs. CPU like these 2? I am not gonna live with no pass rush again. I'll pass on NCAA without looking back if that is gonna be the case. |

I'm watching the videos on OS, and decided to post my thoughts as I watch them. USC vs. Oregon: Oregon's numbers look a little too small, but not a big deal. Overall, however, this video looks like it could've been straight from 09. UNC vs. NC State: The lighting and field look awesome. The bad snaps from shotgun are a pretty nice touch. I didn't like the NCSU qb throwing back across his body for, what, a two yard gain, when he had an easy 1st down in front of him. But the corner route pass was nice. Good touch on it, got him in stride. The saftey seemed to jump that route with super speed to me. Seems like with the distance he had to cover, he should've been able to bat it away, but not pick it off. Miami vs. Florida They seemed to have fixed the rain coming down harder in the middle of the field from the last couple years, that's good. It looks pretty good, though it should be a little brighter - the lights are on. Saw a pretty decent speed rush on that first play. The RE got Tebow pretty good, and the LE almost got there too. Second play though, no pass rush, and no saftey over top. Looked like it was just an awful defensive play call. Miami's march just looked bad though. Florida had no pass rush, and until they got near the endzone, did absolutely nothing to slow Miami down. Army vs. Navy OS should've had them wearing their new alts. Those things are awesome. I looks like option can still be executed super late, and that toss play was way too easy. That's partly (a lot) the players fault for calling man defense and bringing everyone inside. Miami vs. Florida St. The Miami qb threw a quick, high lob to his rb for a 3 yard loss with virtually no pressure. Huh? That player lock camera looks pretty cool though. But it does seem like it's hard to see the ball. Again, Miami gets no pass rush on the human player, and he has all day to wait for receivers to clear. The cpu def. sure does swarm to the ball though. Va Tech vs. Alabama I like the little things, like a DB picking up a dropped pass and running like it's a fumble. Not seeing much of a running game from the cpu. Got to see another one of those "free defender takes down the qb before he can hand it off" plays that happen way too much in NCAA. Overall, the game looks so-so so far for me. I haven't seen enough smart decision making by the cpu qb or a good enough running game by them to make this a buy for me yet. Also, I'd like to see more of the spread option. I'm a little annoyed that OS is being so pass-happy in it's demos. Hardly seeing any offense, and they only picked a spread team for one video, and they have a whopping one offensive play on that video. |
