I just want to say that people need to get over quest based MMO's. This is a game where you explore and craft alot. You also kill mobs and other players. You protect your clan cities etc. There is a ton of stuff to do, it just doesn't involve much questing like say EQ2, Vanguard etc.

the fact that they're adding anything at all in this stage tells me it isn't quite ready. for every item, mob, texture, script added it needs to be thoroughly tested. what worries me are all the game mechanics that they haven't touched this late in testing; flagging, combat and skills, siege, large scale pvp, raids so on.

and from what i've heard they have something like 1000 testers? that is pathetically low. the technical side (client performance, crashes, lag) isn't going to be an issue with those numbers.

i'm not a fan of testing, but too many testers sugarcoat a game they're just happy to be in. reading the "leaked threads" post, it reeks of fanboys. if they wanted some critical testing they'd invite some top organized guilds or the heads of a number of them. no bs, just get some testers who will shit on your game for the sake of improvement.

/agree

And this is what worries me. They are turning on some major features in these patch notes. And can we confirm how many are in beta? I haven't heard more than 1000 either. That is a far cry from 10k. I hope there isnt another delay. :'(

The game is not ready for a Feb 25th release; expect another delay to be announced within the next few weeks.
Would like more leaker opinions on this, have heard 2 people say it wont be ready, and many more say it will be.

Also some reason why might be nice.

@anom

It is funny how you say the fanboys are trying to sugar coat the game, when they provide details on their gaming experience, what they like, what needs improvement ect...

But the people who say it isn't ready just say it isn't ready lol.....

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Also you talk about them enabling stuff this late (oh noes!), but if you read the patch notes, the only stuff enabled was more mobs, more player skills, and lots of updates. So it is not like they are just now adding core mechanics.

bolded for greatness.

and yes fans are the worst testers because its hard for most of them to be objective. the only good criticism i've seen from all the leaks has been rogue status ( and by a dev?). its a little worrying that it's something that hasn't been addressed . i mean who didn't see that coming, tester or not. if i was a developer i'd want the most brutal assholes ever trying to break my game.

and how the hell did this whole thing get quoted
Wait what? The comment about rogue status was his personal opinion, and his suggestion to how he would like it to be. (Was not a dev was a moderator.....WAY different) I think the alignment system is fine, if someone stand in your way you kill them or go to another area, the world is huge. So they obv knew people would try to get other to grey out, and decided to let players solve the problem on their own.....

And ENABLING more mobs, skills, and updating things already in place are not core mechanics.......

I don't understand how you can even say that skills are not core mechanics.

So any other MMO that patches in skills is patching in core mechanics? Having the basis for attacks, spells and skills in core mechanics...

If the skill did not previously exist in the game, yes. A skill is a function that a character can perform (or how good they are at an action).

For a game that is based on skills instead of levels, knowing that they work properly is very much a core aspect of gameplay.

I would also consider dungeons, mobs in dungeons, clan cities, hamlets and sieging all to be core mechanics as well. All of those have been enabled within the last few patches.
