No country in the world is able to sue a ip addresse.
As of April 1st, Swede's can be sued if their IP has been used for illegal stuff...

Anyway, the wow beta had a console because it was in DEBUG MODE...

wow stores the zones on the client side as well as the server, that's why it worked to connect to localhost/127.0.0.1 or your home IP. If DFO stores all the world data on the servers, it wont work to just give it another IP to connect to, since all it will do is give you a great big... void...
Thanks for the info. Is there anyway to know how they store it? Maybe it cant be done then. If not sorry for snappin at yall, I thought it was more simple. I am just very anxious to see it, as I think I have found my new home.

From what i recall once u have the full client you use the ~ command and it brings up the console, which you type your ip address and name:name/pass:pass eg. From what i can figure it uses your ip address as the server but only for you and you login and can run around the empty world. I know someone out there knows more about this than I do. Please feel free to speak up
Just stop. Just because someone knowledgable were able to figure out how to do that with the wow beta, it doesnt mean it would work anywhere else. If it did, there would be a completely different set of things to do to accomplish it. You cant just copy/paste instructions like that. Please know your shit before you talk about something like that.

No, you are wrong there honcho. It was as simple as downloading the client and typing your own IP address in the console(using your computer as the server) then setting the name/password just by typing name:(whatever u want, pass:whatever you want) and logging in and looking at the empty world. It is fun just to see the world. It wasnt hard and LOTS of us did it. fohguild forums has instructions on how to do it and yes it was simple as most of us dont have vast computer knowledge.
Ohh my. How hard is it to understand? you need some server to connect to and they made it by using localhost. This was just with WoW you need to do some serius coding before this can happen. Its not just to put down a migic consol and conect to whatever you want.
Please stop is, as i said before the client will only do good to let the patch servers have less downloads, so they can invite more testers.
You are not hearing me. We typed in OUR OWN IP address and logged in on our OWN computer. We didnt connect to any server when we did that. The private server they made was SEPERATE from what I am talking about now. We are able to walk around and see the landscape without mobs/npcs. There was no extra program or code it was as simple as hitting ~ to pull down a console and type in our IP and and name/pass setting. If the client is leaked it can be done.
Your the one not getting it mate. I realize that WOW in its early stages was possible to do this with, but that doesnt mean you can do it with DF. I have not heard of any other mmorpg where you could do it. Even if it was possible to host DF yourself like that and see parts of the game, it would likely require a completely different set of instructions than the wow ones, and maybe even modifying the game files.

What is so difficult to understand?

The people who uploaded the patcher on ThePirateBay are currently working on bypassing a login which will allow you to download the entire thing.

http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4670760/Darkfall_Patcher.

EDIT: They also could use some beta-tester's help.

I remember in EQ1 it used to come with a Tutorial program that basically just loaded up a tutorial_zone_file offline, it was pretty easy to figure out how to make it load up another zone file instead so you could explore them sans-ncp's.

Ahhh the memories...

Yup. That was my first MMO and I started on Sullon with a friend. It was brutal and we have some great stories to this day.

You find it weird that the beta testers haven't taken time out of their playing to upload 18gigs of files that will be (By and large) useless to anyone not in the beta?
