From what i recall once u have the full client you use the ~ command and it brings up the console, which you type your ip address and name:name/pass:pass eg. From what i can figure it uses your ip address as the server but only for you and you login and can run around the empty world. I know someone out there knows more about this than I do. Please feel free to speak up
Just stop. Just because someone knowledgable were able to figure out how to do that with the wow beta, it doesnt mean it would work anywhere else. If it did, there would be a completely different set of things to do to accomplish it. You cant just copy/paste instructions like that. Please know your shit before you talk about something like that.

No, you are wrong there honcho. It was as simple as downloading the client and typing your own IP address in the console(using your computer as the server) then setting the name/password just by typing name:(whatever u want, pass:whatever you want) and logging in and looking at the empty world. It is fun just to see the world. It wasnt hard and LOTS of us did it. fohguild forums has instructions on how to do it and yes it was simple as most of us dont have vast computer knowledge.

Ohh my. How hard is it to understand? you need some server to connect to and they made it by using localhost. This was just with WoW you need to do some serius coding before this can happen. Its not just to put down a migic consol and conect to whatever you want.
Please stop is, as i said before the client will only do good to let the patch servers have less downloads, so they can invite more testers.

It's very possible that the beta client will work at launch aswell so if we could get our hands on it before the game launches the download servers wouldnt get overloaded.

Oh and I seriously doubt anyone will be able to put up a private server like that...

Maybe we don't want to connect onto a private server. Maybe we just want the data files, rip out some model info, maps etc. Thats what I want the damn client files for. I don't want the world. I'llw ait for release for that!

You are not hearing me. We typed in OUR OWN IP address and logged in on our OWN computer. We didnt connect to any server when we did that. The private server they made was SEPERATE from what I am talking about now. We are able to walk around and see the landscape without mobs/npcs. There was no extra program or code it was as simple as hitting ~ to pull down a console and type in our IP and and name/pass setting. If the client is leaked it can be done.

I dont think he has the full client. Just the patcher like the rest of us. With the full thing we can bring up the console command and enter any name/pass we choose and then we can get in the client. It would be empty of mobs/npcs but we could see what the world looks like. We did it in wow before the game went live. Some guys on gotwow.com figured it out
I've taken Computer Science III, so I know what I'm talking about. Even if Darkfall-online doesn't have a console you can use other consoles. All computer machines have a console called cmd.exe and if you start Darkfallonline from there, you can send the IP address as well. The client will understand that you want to connect to your own computer and you'll be able to play. First I need a beta key to test how it works on the original server. Please PM me your beta key and I'll set up a server where everyone can play.

Lol at the above post, I'm pretty sure there would be a way to do it.

Perhaps it's best people stop arguing and start trying? :P

No country in the world is able to sue a ip addresse.
As of April 1st, Swede's can be sued if their IP has been used for illegal stuff...

Anyway, the wow beta had a console because it was in DEBUG MODE...

wow stores the zones on the client side as well as the server, that's why it worked to connect to localhost/127.0.0.1 or your home IP. If DFO stores all the world data on the servers, it wont work to just give it another IP to connect to, since all it will do is give you a great big... void...

Would it be a void with Character Generation, and all the mouseover tooltips relating to it?

And the ability to pull out starter weapons and get a feel for moving around and swinging a bit?

At least gives you something to do other than refresh Forumfall or go live a real life.

Please dont make us go live a RL... sun is so bright and its like 5 degrees ouside.
