LoL i havent heard of half of em =x. Im in electrical engineering and i am taking computer engineering programing classes only seen/done C, C++, HTML (very little) and java. C, C++ and java r like really alike (C++ and java r based off C). Never heard of perl python or ruby. Ive heard of assembly but i though that was similar to C could be wrong though. Keep in mind progaming can be really anoying 99% of the time since a simple error like not adding ";" where it goes or a period or a specific character in a big block of text can screw up ur porgrams ;~;. This has happend to me so many times its not even funny. But its fun when u code something and works well it feels good i duno just me though. ALOT of pains taking time in the end with a gloriuos end =D

Oh... Ouch... Double E Major... x.x I feel bad for you guys... It's like second hardest to study here at UCSD next to Bio/Chem Engineering...

And about Assembly... It's like an extremely archaic version of C... x.x

Below you'll find a really simple code. It's basically printing out a sentence. In C or Java, you can basically compress this to the "printf" or "fprintf" function and be done with it. Assembly actually takes you through and goes bit by bit (LITERALLY) to process your commands...
Code:

.model small
.stack
.data
message db "Hello world, I'm learning Assembly !!!", "$"

.code

main proc
mov ax,seg message
mov ds,ax

mov ah,09
lea dx,message
int 21h

mov ax,4c00h
int 21h
main endp
end main

Oh, and a TINY miscalculation in the values, whether as a float, int, double or whatever, is gonna screw up the WHOLE program... Trust me, it took many nights just to fix one part of the code, only to find another part doesn't work because of the value mismatch... = =;;;;

But yes, if you manage to get it to work, it's a good feeling...

Ya its similar to C ish i understnad most of it, but Ive yet to take a class with assembly... ( havent taken a great deal of computer engineering programing yet)
The funiest part about this ive screwed around with assembly and never thought about it.

LOL Assembly....

So ya... You guys can stick with your abstract intangible theories and methods. ME all the way.

Hmm not to be a stick in the mud or anything but was that last post okay for this forum?

Uh... I'll fix that... >>;;;

But yes, a lot of the coding for some games is done in Assembly, which can get really confusing if you aren't careful. Oh yeah, a food for thought since this came up in the ICAM101 lecture last night...
ICAM101

"This logic [of networking and stability] comes from creating machines that are efficient and training the body to use the said machine to become more efficient because of the way we use two machines (the body as one machine and the mechanical machine) at once."

Confusing, ain't it?

Learn data communications, networking, and web development skills in UNIX and Windows environments.

well, looks like i got some research to do, cya in a bit
