Actually I love drinking and i've never felt guilt or regret for doing it (since I'm doing it once in a while and it is not addictive, atleast not to me, still i'm not telling you to go and drink even once)I know smoking is bad, addictive,a cancer trigger and costs alot of money that's why I will never support it. But on the other hand i've got no problem with drinking (talking about myself, I know drinking is mainly not good) As I said before i'm not telling you that it's good to drink especially not at this early age of 14 like myself. But I just feel that even if the alcohol's effect is much stronger and it does much damage WHEN YOU DRINK it is not as bad as smoking as long you're not addicted, because most of the people including me drink only once in a while. The only things that I really think are dangerous while drinking are driving and fighting, on my opinion if you avoid these two effects of drinking, it is not as bad as they say it is, except the fact that it burns your liver :P You can skip this paragraph cause I only want to say here what I personally love drinking for the people who know a thing about it cause I really love sharing this information so here I go: Bad apfel,Rum,Jagermeister and whiskey. As I said you don't have to read this paragraph I just wanted to mention it.So, what is your opinion about alcohol? I don't drink either, i don't like beer, but i have less problems with most people drinking then with people smoking. I do despise it more when people are drinking all day compared to when people smoke all day though. Just my 2 cents again :) Drinking a glass of beer once in a while has even been proven to be quite healthy, i just think it tastes filthy (yes, i have taken a few sips. After that i put my glass away and think by myself, not my cup of tea.....beer. |

Yeah but beer is a kind of alcohol, there is wine which is much different in flavour and it's healthier than Beer I think. Beer isn't nice in my opinion it's tastes like bad fizzy water to me. I'm not too keen on alcohol. Well Wine is nice, I tend to drink it when I am allowwed but I can't go over the top because the wine I like (Dry tasting) gets a little too much to drink after a glass or three. |

oooh a drinking post. Well I don't see why people would have a problem against smoking and not drinking, I can see how people would not have a desire to smoke, but smoking only harms the person who is doing it (smoking indoors is illegal in most places so second hand smoke isnt an issue) but a lot of people who drink end up causing a lot of danger to other people. Alcohol effects people differently. It's a mood enhancer and a depressanttt, so for some people like myself it will make them really happy and active, for others it could make them very sad, and for others it can do lots of different things like being overly violent; causing vandilism, assaulting to other people, then the silly stories of when people lay down in roads and stuff and get run over, or drink and drive at the same time. Like smoking is a lead cause of various lung diseases & CHD, and can make anything else seem healthy, drinking has a really large risk factor in terms of CHD (btw that's coronary heart disease), with the other 3 major risk factors being smoking, stress and fatty foods. Other problems with alcohol is that although it isn't very addicted, alcoholism is quite a big deal. When people drink a lot on a regular basis (*thinks back to christmas 2009*) for a prolonged period of months they gradually get the NEED to drink, whether it be on a small scale of a shot of vodka before leaving the house to get rid of anxiety, or not being able to sleep without getting hammered being something more large scale. I believe a big example was george best, a footballer who had a huge alcohol problem, and even after getting a liver transplant still continued until he eventually died from alcohol poisoning. People going through depression will also think that drinking helps without realising it's making it a lot worse. Nights out without drinking just aren't the same, nothing says "last night was awesome" like not being able to remember what happened and waking up feeling like someone's taking a piledriver to your skull. For the most part people are far more relaxed and open, are easier to entertain and generally more outgoing, I even found myself on the dancefloor a few times after having enough to drink. Last year I went to centerparcs for the weekend and spent a large portion of it intoxicated, we met some really awesome people I don't think I would ahve otherwise attempted to speak to, had some really fun times out and about in what would normally be relatively boring places, and then at night went bowling and to the bars and stuff; I look back on that weekend with blurred fondness. I think a main problem comes about when people start drinking at home alone. I mean sure when I'm at home sometimes I'll do a little bit of light drinking and have 4 or 5 cans of whatever beer I have, but only in the same way in which a kid will drink a 6 pack of coca cola or something; for the taste. Drinking for the most part doesn't really hurt other people unless you get attacked by a chav who's excuse is "oh I had too much white lightening", which can be anywhere from not a problem if you're overly nice, offer them a cigarette and or can run fast; or it can be drastically bad like those chavs who beat up a girl because she dressed differently, to which the assault was that bad police officers couldnt identify what gender she was at the crime scene. If you're out at a bar in town and people are drinking around you, sure some people might be annoying but they won't harm you at all, if you're out at a bar in town and you're not drinking then, well... why the Shroom are you at a bar? XD I support alcohol and responsible drinking, and yes responsible drinking could even mean getting bladdered and falling down a 16 set of stairs (trys to look innocent and fails) as long as you're the only one that gets hurt ![]() On an interesting note! Does anyone know about the prohibition era that took place in america when they dried to outlaw alcohol as an illegal drug and organised crime went SKY HIGH as it went into the hands of the mob? Maybe some of you have seen that episode of the simpsons about it :) Anyway, a message to perhaps legalise all drugs maybe? If there's anyone who drinks, lets discuss alcohol! (@ flowers, your dad works in a bar, try some of this stuff!) x_As far as beer is concerned I go for the carlsberg mainly because out of all the mainstream beers and lagers like carlsberg, fosters, stella (wife beaterz), carling, boddingtons etc it's the nicest, and they're all cheap, but when it comes to REAL beer, miller is my favourite, it's a very pale yellow colour and it's made somewhere in america, comes in crates of 4 bottles, quite expensive but totally worth it. My favourite lager is SUPER BOCK! Which is actually something that I used to see a lot of the time in portugal but never saw it in england until tesco sent it to us as a substitution when they didnt have enough miller in stock one time. x_As far as spirits go, vodka (anything other than 40% isn't vodka, it's watered down, although I like smirnoff they shouldn't call it vodka!) is one of the only ones i can neck; as well as gin and jack daniels. (Another note, jack daniels isnt whiskey, it's burben!) x_Spirits mixed with colas? I have a belief that each spirit has their own fizzy drink that was made to hold hands with it, I pass these down in hope that you will agree with me. Smirnoff vodka - Diet Coke. Bombay sapphire Gin - Pepsi Max. Jack Daniels - Coca-cola. Southern Comfort - Cherry coke. Absolut vodka - Dr Pepper. There are others too, those are from the top of my head. x_Alcopops, well, just make sure you've had enough beer to prove you're a man before you move on to alcopops. Can someone else write a wall of text too? Or we could talk about drinking games! I feel lonely

Thx. I like writing a lot. My idea of writing a little too much is probably... this. Just another thing I think I should have included. Now I know this will sound like a really bad piece of advise but I think that during the long holidays you get from education should be spent, for the most part going out and drinking a LOT. The reason why I say this is because when people change schools for education or you go to university or something.... There will be a time when people are stood around talking about stupid embarassing things they've done when they've been hammered or something and everyone will have said something and they look at you and it's like... "yeah well i knew a guy... he drank some alcohol... it was awesome". Drink lots, do stupid stuff, try to remember it the next day and savour it so you have stories to tell when you go off to college or university!
