Hey Fred: Well, it's been awhile since I had my KLR and now the 'bug' is creeping back to have a 'Dual sport' ... currently my ride is a 06 Yamaha FJR 1300 and is all setup for road touring. I had a 2001 KLR that I had setup for off road touring ... and it did well. Friends of mine have KLR's and are talking about trips into Mexico and the FJR isn't the bike for where they want to go. I came across a used 1995 KLX 650 here in Tucson. The bike is supposed to be very low hours and in excellent shape. My question is how much of the KLR stuff will work on the KLX? I can see right off that it's the got the bigger front fork and a few other things that are different ... but if I get it I'll want to set it up like I did my 2001 KLR .. is this a good idea or should I just keep my focus on a KLR and be happy?
