Hi Fred, I discovered that the oil bypass tube on my KLR is missing in the oil filter. Surely that means that my engine is loosing oil pressure, if the oil bypasses the filter? Or am I mistaken? I don't have an oil pressure guage to check the pressure to see if it is okay. My KLR is a 2001 with just over 20000 miles on the clock. She runs fine, but I am a bit worried about this. Thanks. |

You are safe. The oil bypass tube is before your oil pump, so you should have the same oil pressure with out this tube. The problem is you are not filter your oil without this tube. Get that bypass tube replaced and you should be good to go. |
