Hi Fred-don't know if you can help me on this one but here goes: I was riding the North Road to Jame's Bay in Quebec and the rear bolt on the muffler body(there are 2) disappeared. How does one deal with this? The muffler seems louder and some discoloration had occured by the time I got home 3000miles later. Laser does not have a tech site. Thanks, Frank |

Hello Frank, I'd take the other bolt to your local hardware store and match it up. It should be a metric bolt. Fred |

I'm not completely sure, but from what I can see there is nothing to screw the bolt in to. Pipe is welded and no way to get in there. I'm waiting for the factory rep to get back to me. He wanted some pics, so I sent him a couple and am waiting for a reply. |

You should be able to post your picture here too. I'd like to see which bolt you are talking about. The two bolts that attach the mounting strap, should have nuts on the backside. What does the one remaining bolt have to keep it there? |

Fred, here are a couple of pictures. I can't see anything inside to bolt to. Still waiting to hear from factory rep. Frank |

I was thinking those were rivets. I might be wrong, but there is no way to get a nut on the inside since the muffler is an all welded construction. You could try a "pop-rivet" there. Isn't that the mounting points for the Laser badge on the side? |

I don't think rivets. The head has a square/allen drive. The cutaway on the Laser website shows internal stuff that may have moved thru vibration-not sure. Still waiting on reply from rep. I'll post their solution when I get it. It has been a great product so far. Frank |

Well, it seems that the previous owner removed a nameplate on the side of the muffler. I'm not sure what he used to plug the holes-they look like allen head bolts, but the nameplate was originally held on with rivets. Mystery solved. I am going to figure out some way to plug the hole-rivet I guess-and I'll stop worrying about it. Laser tech was very responsive-good to work with. Thanks everyone! Frank |
