Yes, let's say that Italians are more respectful, in some way, than other S.Europeans such as Iberians. Iberians usually trash everybody, from Forums, to Youtube, to comments in the online Newspapers, then they wonder why people call them names back.LOL Of course you have Italians too that don't like immigrants or blacks or other people but we have a different and less snazy way. Italians are usually even more satirical when trashing people while Iberians totally lacks every form of joke. What i meant in the first comment though is that the Italian team, for what concerns the ethnic Italians, seems lot less racially challenged than Iberia, Greece and Portugal.

Italians are to me the most respectful along with Balkan people out of Southern Europeans. I have too seen Iberians do this buy trashing everyone in their path no matter what website. I'm not surprised either when people troll Iberians back. Italians are more diplomatic when confronting immigrants (whether blacks, muslims etc). Italians are more funnier when trashing than Iberians. I agree Italians are less racially challenged than Iberians and Greeks. |

Don't worry me and the Duke were only telling our truths about some ethnic groups. I will now let the thread get back on topic. Edited by cloxias, Jun 20 2012, 08:52 PM.

I think Iberians are just defensive. There are many times more people in the world who speak Spanish and Portuguese but who look nothing like Spaniards and Portuguese, and because common language is such an obvious "unifier" there is a clear threat of being swamped and wiped out by these people. If half of Africa spoke Italian I think Italians would be more defensive too. (Interestingly, the French don't appear to have this problem. But they have long been "linguistic supremacists," and I think this has clearly lulled them into ignoring the racial factor in life.) As for Italy being "racially challenged," one can always attempt to put it that way if one is inclined to do so (and many of course are so inclined). The funny thing is this particular series of pics betrayed very little in that regard. Just Trog taking a potshot, you reckon. Greeks don't look like Mexicans. I used to think it was true until I went to America and saw what most Mexicans look like. But there are plenty of Mexicans who look like Greeks, I'll grant that. But really, just what were people supposed to discuss? Edited by Silver, Jun 21 2012, 06:43 AM.

I totally agree. Iberians are offensive at times when someone mentions something they don't like especially when genetics is invovled. I have too had my share of them been offensive to me on another race board. It was a topic on Atlanto Med Vs Atlantids. I said something like Atlanto Meds and Atlantids are different from each other. They started to take offence to it. |

Lol, yes Atlantids are typical amongst people of the British Iles so if you call them Atlanto-med and say its different, which of course it is, it makes them more unBritish so to speak so they get upset. According to them they are not medeterranian whatsoever lol. |

Indeed. Atlantids are the most common in the British Isles then followed by parts of France atleast. You can find atleast some even in Germany. It is no wonder why Iberians perfer to use Atlanto Med instead of Med which in fact they are not completely much different except one is taller and the other one smaller. Iberians to me are far from being Atlantids but instead are Small Meds/Iberian Insular followed by Berids or even South Meds. |

Regarding Iberians, and one should not forget that there are 2 distinct Iberian countries, Portugal and Spain and that use of the term Iberian as describing a common ethnicity is used mostly on the Anthroboards and not in real life. The online attitudes and behaviours of the people criticized above are more of an internet phenomenon and not really representative of real world Portuguese or Spanish. I think most of these folks, who can be traced to an old Forum that folded a couple of years ago, are either race-nationalist extremists with an implicit "nordifying" agenda or people from North America of Portuguese or Spaniard descent who develop a psychological complex due to being identified with or told they are closely related to mixed-race populations of South and Central America by average uneducated Americans/Canadians despite regarding themselves as white Europeans. For Spaniards the term Hispanic is an additional source of irritation. The reaction to this as seen on the boards is to attack other southern Euro nationalities who have less or no colonial past and are therefore not associated with non-white populations in the popular imagination (ie. Italy, Greece, Balkans) or exagerating the influence of trans-Pyrenees elements in the Iberian peninsula such as Celts or Visigoths. |

They sure don't. I just thought this particular guy looked more Mexican than Greek. I know how Mexicans look, I'm from USA. |
