Ignorance and hezbollah, no denial, we know israel and zionism in general are enemies, but hezbolla did contribute in the destruction of Lebanon as well as Israel, no contest

I wish to visit Lebanon. It reminds me of Turkey a lot. I have been to Jordan, Tunisia, Libya, Turkey, Palestine/Israel, and Egypt but Lebanon seem to be the most beautiful area in the Middle East after Turkey.

Turkey is beautiful indeed, Lebanon comes next, but why Lebanon takes preceeding over turkey is the fact its smaller and everything is right infront of you despite all the chaos weve been through, once you come here, youll understand what i mean, lots of people and tourists enjoy one thing you can never do in any other country which is, Go to the beach enjoy the sun tan up and then pack your bags head to the mountains and enjoy the cool breeze in just about 30 to 45 minutes tops then come back down head to a club and you still feel energized, we are a mini-turkey but with the cedars which come as a bonus hehe, ive been to turkey before and im waiting the chance to go back there again, i enjoyed it alot

Beirut, "the Paris of the Middle East", as it was known prior to the 1975-1990 civil war.
Lebanon has been one of the countries I've always wanted to visit. God Willing one day my ambitions will be fulfilled.
In particular, I would like to see the Jeita Grotto limestone caves in Mount Lebanon.

Of course, the souqs are always worth visiting. Brother Maher, in Lebanese souqs, is it possible to buy frankincense?

You must have had a great time in the snow,lol.... Were they all taken in Beirut and its viccinity?
That last pic in particular looks surperb the way it's been taken from such a distance in the night.
I also like the snaps of the mosque/church sitting next to each other; has a lot of meaning to it in my opinion.

your very welcome memo, yeah i know not all are taken by me but the majority are, one would definitly need a professional camera which i just happened to get 2 weeks ago to be able to justify the real view of what one gets to see

I miss everything about Lebanon: The Mediterranean climate that offers tolerable heat on the shores and the cooler mountains nearby, abundant rainfall in certain regions and snow/skiing in Jounieh, the laid back, open minded, neighbourly and energetic people, the FOOD, the folk music and dances, the variety of architecture, the small alley ways in the old villages that's interesting to explore, feeding stray cats, my familys' apartment and the memories, picking fruit from the trees in the farm, and sometimes feeling my heart drop when I come across a war torn building, but the spirit of Beirut and Lebanon is still strong. The list goes on and on... :)

I also admire how Lebanese people/Arabs from the North in general are more fond of the outdoors than their Southern counterparts (with the exception of Yemeni people). I guess it's just something I noticed from all the people I've met.

I would love to go camping in Turkey and the Caucasus region, though. They're only a small road trip away from Lebanon! Thanks for posting those beautiful/nostalgic pictures. :D

its only a roadtrip away, ive not had one yet around the middle east, i was going to try it to turkey, but the situation in Syria didnt help, ive had many in north america, which were amazing, but here not a chance yet even though lots didnt recommend it to me, saying how its boring to go by car, but i still think arabs in general dont like roadtrips as much as westerners

What am I? That's a question I wish I had a short and direct answer for. Simply put, my community came from an area near Petra, Jordan and migrated South into Hijaz, and eventually we settled in San'aa, Yemen for many centuries (never have been there). But my entire family is not Yemeni by blood.

I've seen North Americas deserts, swamps, mountains, and forests. Beautiful! I've also had the luxury to journey across Arabia (Rub' il Khalee) in an old minivan staring at nothing but sand from the window. So until the situation in Syria and the Middle East dies down a little, I don't think too many people will go camping or road tripping this summer..

Maher

That's why some people venture Arabia by camel or horseback! That's definitely more exciting and traditional than sitting in a minivan, haha.

It so pleasant to see how your local authorities are keeping clean and renovated your old buildings and ruins, Egypt needs that attitude, because we have many many treasures that are going to be forgotten.

show some pics of bsharre, sahle und ehden, i love that area so much :D
