We are in the midst of Earth's 6th major extinction event. Over 99% of all land mammals are humans and their livestock.
CG blocked my replies on the ABF admin poll in the Lounge. What is the fake Sicilian and crypto-Nazi afraid of?

"...ABF which is run by elias and loki" --CG

How would you know who runs ABF?

No way that is true, unless you call mice and rats humans' livestock.

In this BBC programme the estimates are given assuming all the suitable land will be cultivated with modern farming techniques
Quote:

If all humans consumed the same as the average Indian does, the earth could sustain as many as 15 billion people. If we consumed as little as the average Rwandan, this would go up to 18 billion. But our planet can only sustain 2.5 billion people living as we do in Britain and only 1.5 billion living in the lifestyle of those in the USA.

It depends on the tehnology, if we can make plants which totaly substitute meat-GM plants, produsing animal proteins easily digestibal, and containing the esential aminoacids, enough Fe, and vitamins then lots of people will become vegetarians, to be vegetarian now is risky for the healt(I am talking about people eating only plants), also resistant plants to drought, heat, cold, poor soil , deseases and so on.

vegetarian food have all the essential amino acids in bigger amounts than meat - there's no need to GM them. It fairly is easy to obtain enough vitamins and minerals too, as long as there's enough variety in the diet. It makes much sense economically as well.

The only other option that is just as good, or even better in some aspects (easier to get fatty acids DHA and EPA), is diet made up exclusively of fish and plants

Yes they have it but the amount is important, we are made by meat, this means meat have the right proportion of the aminoacids you need, also our digestive tract is not developed to eat such food, we get litle of the aminoacids in the plants, it is a fact, also there are problems with vit B12 and Fe, if you are going to eat only plants, the solution is GM, you can do plant which produse the right compilation of vitamins and aminoacids you need, and also easy digestibal.

I agree for the most part, but what about vitamin D? It's the most important of all vitamins & I'm not aware of any plant that has it in sufficient amounts. Milk, fish & liver really is the only good source AFAIK. People with light skin who live in sunny climates don't have to worry, but what about Scandinavians for example, they are under cloudy skies almost 24/7 & can't synthesize vitamin D.

Yes I forgot about that, you are right, here GM can help again, it is the answer for everything!

I'd like to live on planet Earth, with a nice stock of Croats, Greeks, Southern Italians and Bulgarians! The men from those countries are beautiful!

Just checked, Sweden gets at the very least 30hours during the darkest month of winter - December, more during other months. "within about 20 minutes of ultraviolet exposure in light skinned individuals (3–6 times longer for pigmented skin) the concentrations of vitamin D precursors produced in the skin reach an equilibrium, and any further vitamin D that is produced is degraded" - so basically, as little as 20mins of sunshine a day is enough. Alternatively, one can get it in larger doses less often, because it "has a fairly long circulating half-life of 15 days"

So its sorted with vitamin D

Britain's cloudy enough, and yet 30min of jogging with short shorts and tank top seems to do the job for me and my skin is not even the lightest of light.

The weather here is very depressing for sane folk. : (

Lol nottellingyou I pass your standarts, and it is sunny here, but I was thinking the best women live somewhere between Russia and Germany, for men i dont know...
But about vit D I dont think you can store vit D for 3-4 monts of cold, and the light that produce this is the ultraviolet one which doesnt penetrate in the winter monts, check the facts!

human meat proteins differ from pork proteins, so we still have to strap them to basic amino acids and remake them. You don't have to get the full set of amino acids with every meal, although even that is not hard to achieve since lots of plants (beans, lentils, peas, buckwheat...) have the full set and they contain much more grams of protein per 100g.

You can find in the net almost everything, when i eat only vegetables -furst I dont feel good, i dont feel I am full, and something more people eating this stuf has problems with the stomach you know, I mean smelly problems, when you dont absorb the proteins(because the enzimes in the intestines are made to desolve animal protein mainly) bacteria start to do it and the food start to decay, this is not good, you can feel it-I speac only for myself ofcourse, people differ.

I am sure that, as it was the case with the green revolution in the 60s, there would be new technologies invented in order to cope with the ever exploding population, which in turn will also allow more population growth until the necessity for a newer technology that can sustain even more people eventually arises. It is easy to see that technology and population growth affect each other and go hand in hand.
The mass always has a mind of its own no matter how many individuals within it try to change the trend, so I would say the population growth will continue, with the help of new technologies and many sacrifices in nature along the way, until perhaps the whole world reaches the same standard of living as today's developed countries. However, this in itself is contradictory as the developed countries do need undeveloped areas larger than themselves in order to sustain their own standard of living, which means that the whole world will never reach the same standard of living as today's developed countries and the population will continue to grow, unless a new model of life in developed societies is proposed which is drastically different from the current model but offers the same or better qualities. I personally do not see in sight in the near future such a model of living, so I guess it becomes a personal matter of whether I would want to create new lives in an overpopulated, unequal and polluted world where not much of nature is left to enjoy.

Southern Balkan* and Croatians are the best!
It's better to have a mix, keep meat and poultry as a whole at a minimum. Also nuts are ok but only as a treat like cheese.

Milk is the best to drink and juice ( but at a minimum too ) salad is good and fruit.
