If you are totally in love with some anime (lets hope it's not too far along in your um... relationship...) please, PLEASE do not post a new thread about it. Just post it here, to avoid overflow.

For those of you who know what I'm talking about, there is a brand new anime called amped, and they only have the first 6 episodes out so far. They get a new one once a month and if you can figure out where to get it besides a designated anime store, by all means tell me. It is a good anime though. :]

I recommend phantom to everyone.

ANN

A spate of mafia assassinations occurs in America, the work of the mysterious organization named Inferno. "Phantom" is their most strongest and capable assassin, however a lone tourist witnesses Phantom's latest act of murder. He unwittingly exposes the top assassin's true identity, a young girl named Ein. Witnesses are usually killed, but the man is captured and taken to be brainwashed into "Zwei", Inferno's newest assassin, with no memory of who he is. From this point on, Zwei is drawn into a world of conspiracy, deceit and violence.

It's really good, and I'm not exactly sure why.
The story progresses nicely each episode, and you learn a slight bit more about each character as they go in for the kill.

Lets see, if your into shorter animes (12 episodes or shorter). I'd recommend, Library Wars, Elfen Lied or even Spice and Wolf.

If you want a middle sized anime. (20-30 episodes) I'd recommend Death Note, Ouran High School Host Club, School Rumble or XxxHolic.

Now for the longer animes (30 and higher). I'd definetly recommend Eyeshield 21, FullMetal Alchemist, Wolfs Rain or even InuYasha.

These are just some examples of short, middle and longer animes. I've seen many more but these are some pretty good starter animes.

Spiral is a decent mid sized anime like 24 eps...it's about murder, mystery and such...it's a simple version of Case Closed/Detective Conan.

And how about...a classic: Kodomo no Omocha...though watch it in Japanese...it's better. XD It's like the manga, about a kid star who deals with all of the teen crap of growing up around random singing rabbits and annoying cute classmates.

I would easily recommend Mnemosyne and Kara no Kyoukai. Both are OVA series which deal with science fiction and the paranormal. Mnemosyne is about immortality and gos, where females become immortal and males become berserk machines that quickly die. Kara no Kyoukai brings back the death lines which if slit affect the object it's on. The latter isn't finished yet, it has two more movie releases to go.

Ikki Tousen-has some pointless extreme sexual content and tons of fan service, but the overall action part of the anime is awesome, and many of the characters are very beautiful and powerful, lol, like Kanu Unchou for example

If you're looking for a good romance anime that offers a serious take on incest, try out Koi Kaze. If you manage to survive the show's first four episodes, you're on your way to exploring a well-written title that makes you wonder if you could make the decisions made by Koshiro and Nanoka if you were in their situation.

Clannad and Clannad ~After Story~: Might seem like normal harem type animes, but below the storyline, the themes and the depth of exploration of these is high quality.

After Story is not so harem ish, and continues straight from the original series, and they're both based off the same source material (Clannad visual novel).

The animation by KyoAni is of course excellent, and the main characters' relationship progresses naturally throughout both animes. Both are hilarious, heartwarming, and heartbreaking too. Excellent for a great journey about what it really means to be a family.

Daphne in the Brilliant Blue! @ 1st glance it looks like nothing but a fanservice anime, but it actually doesnt show much of anything else other than a bit of skin in the tight lil outfits
the plot gets really deep and at times is very emotionally intense, u find urself identifying with the characters more so than other characters but r interested withal about the entirety of the series...a good watch, i bought the 1st volume just to try it out, and immediately went online and bought the rest of the entire series!

I encourage all to watch Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. I can't get enough of it. If you're not into girls bouncing around, or mech anime, it may not be the series for you... But I love it. X3
