I was wondering something. Kaiba says he's better than Yugi and is such an ass always being arrogant. Let's look at the facts then shall we? Yugi Moto: 2 wins, 1 loss against Seto Kaiba. Seto Kaiba: 1 win, 2 losses against Yugi Moto. Sure Kaiba has beaten almost everybody else he's faced. In the anime, Yugi beats Kaiba by forming Exodia. Point to Yugi. Yugi and Kaiba faced off in duel on the parapets and Kaiba forces Yugi to forfeit by for fear of killing his opponent. I hate to admit it but Kaiba won although it was through cheating in my opinion but Kaiba beat Yugi but I can't deny the fact that Kaiba won. Point to Kaiba. Now the problem is that in Duelist Kingdom Kaiba lost to Maxamillion Pegasus and Yugi beat Pegasus in the final round of the Duelist Kingdom tournament. I believe that's a point to Yugi. Ha ha I guess that's what Kaiba gets for being a slimey, underhanded cheater but what are you gonna do right? lol Now in the Battle City tournament Yugi and Kaiba once again face eachother but this time in the semi-finals of the tourney. Yugi defeats Kaiba cleanly and wins Kaiba's Obelisk the Tormentor card. Another point to Yugi. So as it stands in the anime Yugi beat Kaiba twice but lost once. Kaiba beat Yugi once but lost twice. I guess it's up to you which character you like but I still believe that Seto Kaiba is a pompous, arrogant prick and that Yugi Moto is the best duelist.

In a real life game of Yu-gi-oh, I doubt any of them would even be tourney worthy considering the amount of lucksacking the two do in their duels in the anime.

But having to go by the anime:

Yugi (w/ God cards) vs Kaiba- Yugi wins thanks to lucksacking a draw with God cards.
Yugi (w/o God cards) vs Kaiba- Once again, Yugi due to lucksacking.
Yugi vs Kaiba (regular fight)- With Yugi being quite small for his age, Kaiba could kick him around like he was nothing.
Yugi (as the Pharaoh) vs Kaiba (regular fight)- Pharaoh Mind Crushes Kaiba for the win.

Since I find them both interestign characters and am not really bias towards either, I'd say Yugi is the best duelist. Take away the god cards and what not, Kaiba has been proven to be beaten far more easily than Yugi by other top duelists, he's over-confident, over-zealous and narrowminded...all which will cloud judgement when dueling. He does have technical skill, but let's othe rhtings get in the way. While Kaiba can give him a good run for his money, Yugi still rocks the duel and it appears to be a fairly blatatn theme througuot the show that Yugi is better in both skill & character and that until Kaiba realizes this...he won't win fiarly against Yugi.

Sometimes Exodia is classed as a God card in its own right. Also, if the anime actually used the cards' effects, then I doubt that either one of them would be as good. Slightly off-topic, but Yugi used the card Burning Land in his duel with Weevil Underwood. While it does destroy the field CARD in play (Not the field, as it was shown in that duel) it also deals 500 damage to both players on each of their standby phases. This effect wasn't shown in the anime.

In addition, Joey Wheeler on a few occasions summons Flame Swordsman, when it's in fact a fusion card.

The series definitely took liberties with the cards ie: making the monsters real for example, But I guess the writers took some literary/artistic license to swing the outcome in their favor. it would be interesting to have soem of the duels analyzed by players to know what really should've happened.
