Divine wrath shalt smite the sinner who bears the seal Posts: 2,373 Group: Captain Member #1 Joined: Jan 19, 2008 Blog Eda of black lagoon =O	We've had the new AC for 2 months now, and a significant number of you have returned, enough so that I feel we can begin making an official banner for the new forum. I was considering working on this in stages. First we decide how to judge the banners, then we need to find who wants to participate, and finally members can either decide to work individually or as a team and cooperate with other members in making a new banner. Let's begin by outlining the rules for this competition: Members will be able to choose to design between six banners: There is a limit of one entry per skin layout. Members may choose to either submit one entry, or multiple entries. What I mean is each skin selection counts as a separate entry. I've installed 6 skins on this forum so far and members can submit one entry for each individual skin, if they so choose Size restrictions will vary from skin to skin. A guide shall be posted giving a size template for all to run by The entry should represent us as a community, and preferably match the theme as best as possible. For example if you submit an entry for the Autumnea skin you might consider keeping the color scheme more subtle or perhaps technical for the evatarium layout. In general this is subject to interpretation but this is just a starters guide. It should represent what AC as a community is all about Should you have any questions please feel free to ask Work Methods Members will be allowed to work in teams. If necessary, we can make accomodations for teams to make cooperation easier (IE utilizing joinable groups to help facilitate team cooperation and communication via private forums for teams of more than two) Just remember that the more people in your team the more difficult it could be to work with. Should you opt to teamwork make sure you assign appropriate tasks which make your work methods most efficient :yes: Judges This is something I would like opinions on. I'm open to placing the judgment process into one of two possible methods. The first option would be to have three non-participants in the entries vote on entries and assign a score to each entry. The second option would be polls, in which everyone could vote for their favorite entry. Submitters would be able to vote for their own work, and the winner would be determined by poll results. In both cases there will be a winner for each skin there is a design for. A member might win one or more submissions if they've submitted an entry for one or more skins. Others may not win the competition for one design, but could for another. Essentially there will be voting rounds for each skin. I shall post the size restrictions for the banners soon. Should you have any questions in the mean time please feel free to ask. for now I'd like to firt begin with sorting out a judging process if possible :)

Some of the skins have different frame sizes, for example the autumnea theme has a roughly 1050 pixel width, and the default zebra theme goes all the way across the screen. I can edit the theme settings to make the sizes more consistent though. I made the temporary logos at 75 pixels high, but if you want to work a little bit larger you go up to 150 pixels.
