Seinen manga fan Posts: 9,797 Group: God Hand Member #39 Joined: Aug 24, 2008 Blog Manga nonsense	I was wondering how do titles like neon genesis evangelion handle the people who see something shocking like when Spoiler: click to toggle Asuka walks in on her mother after she hanged herself or this one from the gurren lagann Spoiler: click to toggle kameda seeing his father's skeleton after he highjacks the gunman how realistic would they seem to be compared to actual psychological studies of people who experienced something similar or as similar as can be?

You can empathize with the characters in both case you brought up but the atmosphere isn't such that it would impact you. One of the few animes I've seen that does makes this impact is Kara no Kyoukai which probably comes closest to the psychological similarities to the the real thing
