Name: Xena Gender: Female Age || Birthday: 30 || 25 august Race: Mortal Location: Hometown is Amphipolis, but travels around, and is always on the road. Trade/Occupation: Warrior, fighting against evil, protecting the weak and innocent. Appearance General Appearance: Xena is a 6 feet tall, long dark haired women. It’s not that hard to miss her in a crowd. She has a tan, due to being outside in the sun a lot (which Greek doesn’t have a tan?), and she has piercing blue eyes. Xena has a square shaped face. Something that is quite prominent to the people she is closer with is her ability to make a lot of ‘faces’. Her face is very expressive, and she can use it to her advantage in many positions, from making a sweet face to a scary one. Generally Xena is seen wearing her mini-skirt and upper body made of leather. And armour of bronze, mainly breastplates, on the shoulders, and on her wrist and arm protection. She has knee high leather boots. Xena generally wears her sword on the back, and has a chakram hanging on her hip. In general Xena is a woman from head to toe, but the many contradictions make her both a female to be wanted by men, as well as a female to be feared by the opposite sex. Weapons: Xena always carries her sword on her back, and her chakram, a circular metal, razor-sharp disc. At times she also carries a whip, which is generally attached to the saddle of her horse. And she generally caries a knife around, but not on her. It’s mostly used for cutting and eating food. Items/Personal Belongings/Ownings: Argo, her horse. Personality General Personality: Xena is an intelligent woman, who knows a lot from the world already at such a young age. She knows how to keep her head cool in sticky situations to come out victorious. Before she was mostly cunning, but she has turned this trait around in a good one, she’s a good planner and a good strategist, and knows how to influence people. Although Xena also has another side. That of helping our people whenever she can. In her own way of course. On her way of redempting her past, she starts to love people for who they are. To put it nicely she has two personalities, ass-kicking versus tenderness. However Xena is far from predictable. And if you think you know her, you are mostly mistaken. There are many layers in Xena’s mind. And there is a darker side still that Xena must fight against to keep it suppressed and not let herself be tempted and lead by it. Hobbies: Xena likes to fish, with bare-hands. And cutting the blood flow to people’s brains. Quirks: She can be sarcastic at times. And there are also days people really can’t stand to be around her. Even Gabrielle not, when she’s in one of her annoying moods to pull pranks on people. Fighting Favourite Weapon: The chakram is Xena’s favourite weapon. However, she mainly fights with her sword, and uses her chakram only when it’s necessary. Weapon Skills: There aren’t a lot of weapons Xena can’t fight with. If she wants she can make the unlikeliest item into a weapon if the need is there. Generally she is the most skilled with a sword, chakram and similarly weapons. Strengths in Fighting: Her main strength are agility and speed. As well as cunning tactics and special skills like pressure points. Weaknesses in Fighting: Weaknesses in fighting are when people she cares about find themselves in a sticky situation, or when others outsmart her. Special Abilities: Pressure points (like cutting off the flow of blood to the brains) and nice kick-ass martial arts moves. Background Xena grew up in a village called Amphipolis, bordering Thrace and Macedonia. She grew up happily with her two brothers, Toris (oldest) and Lyceus (youngest). However, when she was six years old, one time her father Atrius came back from the local temple in a drunken rage and wanted to kill the little girl. Xena’s mother Cyrene was able to stop him. But it wasn’t until Xena was older that she learned her mother had actually killed their father. At the time Cyrene told her kids their father had left. To provide for her family, Cyrene decided to run a tavern. Xena and her brothers helped out where needed. When Xena was in her late teenage years, the valley the village was located in, was overrun by a warlord named Cortese and his army. They threatened the surrounding villages, and soon Amphipolis would be overrun by soldiers too, to loot, kill people and catch others to sell as slaves. Toris decided it was best for the villagers to leave the village and run for the hills. The young Xena and her brother Lyceus however raised a small army from the male villagers, and together with her brother she rode against the warlord. Lyceus was killed in this first attack, however Xena was victorious in driving Cortese off. She became engaged with a young warlord, Petracles. Xena realized that Petracles was only interested in conquering her and once she'd agreed to marry him he lost interest in her. Xena left Petracles and perhaps soon after this experience Xena may have met Helen. About a year after going underway with her conquests, Xena captured a young Roman noble, Julius Ceasar. She kept him alive for ransom and entered into a relationship with him. At the time she had an army of ships, on this ship was a stowaway, a slave who spoke Gaelic. When Xena found this girl, M’Lila, she was instantly interested due to her fighting abilities. Xena befriended her, and M’Lila taught Xena the art of pressure points. After Ceaser was freed, he followed Xena’s ship and captured it. Taking Xena’s army prisoner. Sailing to a nearby shore they crucified Xena and the Amphipolitans. M’Lila who escaped detection, freed Xena and took her to Mount Nestots, where Nicklio the Healer lived. He set Xena’s bones and allowed her to recuperate. Before she was fully recovered however Roman soldiers attacked the hut, killing M’Lila. Xena killed the soldiers and swore to dedicate herself from that time onward to death. However, Xena was crippled and her wanderings went eastwards and she joined up with the vicious warlord Borias. They become lovers and Xena developed a reputation of herself. In Ch’in, Borias attempted to engage in political manoeuvrings with the Emperor, Ming Tzu and his wife Lao Ma (effective rules of the Kingdom of Lao). Xena however interfered and kidnapped their young son Ming Tien. Borias helped the emperor capture Xena after the young boy was ransomed. And in his rage set his men upon her in a hunt. Lao Ma found Xena injured in the woods and took her to her own home in the Kingdom of Lao. Gradually she taught Xen a new philosophy, hoping to arrange an alliance with Ming Tzu whereby Borias and Xena would keep the peace. Xena, having her legs healed by Lao Ma, was however full of hate to agree to Lao Ma’s plans. And she killed Ming Tzu. Lao Ma then drove Xena and Borias out of her Kingdom of Lao. Heading west, Xena and Borias plotted to use the Amazons as allies in a war agains the Centaurs. If the Centaur tribes were destroyed, all of Greece would stand open for their conquest. Here they met Alti, a shamaness cast out by the central Asian Amazons. Alti had a young apprentice, Anokin, who won Xena’s affection in the month they knew each other. Anokin however was killed when Borias’ army destroyed a village on the border of Amazon territory. Not soon after Borias saved a young girl, Otere, from Xena’s sword. Alti took Xena into the spirit realm to visit Anokin, who told Xena she despised her. Hurt by her rejection but fascinated by Alti’s powers, Xena learned all she could from Alti, despite Borias’ dislike for the woman. When Borias signed to an alliance with Cyane, queen of the amazons of central Asia, Xena and Alti schemed to destroy them. Unaware Xena lowered her guard and Alti cursed her unborn child. Foretelling he wouldn’t know his father nor mother. After Xena won Cyane’s trust, she followed the queen to a special funeral rite for a young Amazon Xena had killed. Here she surprised the Amazon Queen and other leader and killed them. Without leaders the Central Asian Amazons were soon defeated by an Army Alti had raised. She used her powers to trap the amazons in the spirit world so they could not cross over in eternity. Otere, the young girl saved by Borias, stayed behind when the army moved on, and she was raised by a remnant of the Amazons who survived the slaughter. Xena became known as Destroyer of Nations. Slaughtering towns for the sake of sating her deep anger, and to hide her own grief and horror at what happened to the men of Amphipolis. She raised a new Army and learned of the Ixion Stone. A stone that carried the evil essence of the race of centaurs, and would bestow great power on whomever used it to transform himself into an image of the father of the centaurs. Maybe thinking it might give her the power to destroy the world, Xena tried to take the stone from a group of Centaurs led by Kaleipus. Xena however had given birth to her and Borias’ child. Who was now her chief lieutenant and confidante. He turned against Xena. Borias was murdered by Dagnine, one of Xena’s lieutenants. She was so shaken by the death of Borias, that Xena gave her only child, named Solan, to Kaleipus and withdrew her army. In her adventures after these happenings, Xena fought in some nasty battles. And in her travellings north, she reached the lands of the Norse Gods. She found Odin hanging from a tree because he had lost his enjoyment of life. Xena’s dark nature tantalized Odin and made her a Valkyrie. A woman warrior elevated above mortals to be a chooser of the slain. Valkyries escorted dead warriors to the hall of Valhalla. Xena competed for Odin’s favour with Grinhilda, leader of the Valkyries. Grinhilda however loved Odin, where Xena only wanted to learn the secret of the Rheingold, which she had learned about from the Viking people. Only a person who had forsaken love could safely touch the Rheingold. Anyone else would be turned into a monster. The gold was guarded by the Rhein maidens. She eventually learned the secret of the Rheingold from Odin, and despite Grinhilda’s best effort to stop her Xena found the Rheinmaidens and seduced one into revealing the secret locaton of the Rheingold to her. Xena took the gold and made a ring from it. The ring would make Xena invincible, but Grinhilda strove to take the ring. Finding Xena as she was about to put on the ring, Grinhilda took it away from her. Soon Grinhilda turned into a monster, and Xena cut the ring from Grinhilda’s hand and used its power to trap Grinhilda in a cave. Grinhilda broke out though and recovered the ring. Xena left the northern lands as she had arrived, mortal and alone. A few weeks afterwards Xena ventured into Gaul, where she met the Celtic princess Boadicea. Who had her own army, and Xena recruited the princess as an ally. But as times before, took Boadicea’s army away from her and turned her out. Boadicea married Prasutagas, a king from Britain, and he brought an army to Gaul to challenge Xena. Xena defeated the army and moved on. Together with her army she returned to Greece. There she attacked and destroyed towns. She also tried to take Corinth, which was defended partly by centaurs under Tyldus. Xena lost half her army and the centaurs fought her to a standstill. After this battle Xena became embroiled in a war with Bacchus and his followers. Xena befriended Eurydice, wife of Orpheus and agreed to help him in the fight against the Bacchi. The battle lasted for several days, Eurydice came inbetween the two armies and was killed. Orpheus blamed Xena for her death and though Bacchus was defeated, Xena lost most of her army to Orpheus. Her greatest battle was the Battle of Torentz. In which her army slaughtered 10,000 men. She then also established a fortress named Elysia. She was constantly recruiting new warriors for her army. And went on with raiding and destroying towns and villages. One of Xena’s worst encounters happened when her army was marching west. They entered a ravine and were trapped there by the Horde. Xena’s main body of troops spend almost a day trying to get to their comrades. Whose cries they could hear above the din of battle. When Xena finally reached the place where her men had made a stand against the savage, axe-wielding barbarians, all that remained were bloody and ragged bones. After around ten years into her career as a Warrior Princess and Destroyer of Nations, Xena meets Hercules. At first she wants to kill the half god, but then her army turns against her. Darphus, Xena’s lieutenant’s lust for power, and believing Xena has become weak after stopping him when he wanted to kill a child, takes over her army. She is captured by Darphus and is made to run the gauntlet and survives, becoming the only person to ever survive the gauntlet. She fights Hercules in the hopes of getting her army back when the see she has not turned weak if she brings his head back. However, Hercules defeats the warrior princess, Xena expects Hercules to kill her. But he refuses, saying killing isn’t the only way of proving you’re a warrior. Inspired by Hercules’ integrity and by the fact that he suffered the loss of family too. But instead of her, chose to fight in honour of them, instead of revenging them. Xena joins up with Hercules to defeat her old army. He tells her that there is goodness in her heart. And they become involved for a short romantic relationship. Although Xena soon chooses to leave and make amends for her past. Disclaimer: Background was written up with other resources of Xena's past at hand, so I could understand her better as character. Most of the above is only re-written by me, but is from other source material ^^ Roleplay example ^^, luckily I know how I RP!
