When Spartan males reach the age of 6 or 7, they were sent away for their education. They were educated with severe discipline and lack of comforts until between the ages 18-20 when they took a test to determine whether they became simply a middle class citizen or a warrior and stay at the barracks until they are 30, when it is optional to leave and join their families.

High on a natural hill, in the middle of the city of Sparta lies the Royal palace. In contrast to the city the Royal palace is heavily gaurded and within the high walls that is the palaces defence, the palace and other areas can be found. There is only one main gate that is the road in and out of the palace. There is a big courtyard paved with stone and big staircases that lead up to the main castles entry. To the left lies a beautiful garden specially created for the queen and princesses. To the right the entry to the servants areas is located. The castle itself is big, and has many rooms, areas for dining, holding receptions, the less important areas like the kitchens are found close to the servants areas. 24/7 gaurds can be seen at all times, at the defense walls, parading around the courtyard and inside the castle. It shows the kingdom of Laconia isn't easily overtaken.

The temple to Hera is a magnificant one, towering above the nearby buildings. It is known as a place where Hera often goes to rest, though mortals are just as welcome to stay the night if they have nowhere else to go.
