Acropolis
The Acropolis is a great walled hill within the centre of Athens, it acts as both a fortress for the Athenians and a religious and cultural centre. Within lies many shrines to the various gods. Importantly on the south side there is the theatre of Dionysos god of wine, the first ever theatre. On the north there is an open air sanctuary for Eros and Aphrodite, and on the east another sanctuary with many smaller shrines. Atop the Acropolis is a grand temple of Zeus.
