"Kristin Nicole Ritchie (born 1986), is a Nerdcore rapper, better known by the stage name MC Router. The self-proclaimed "First Lady of Nerdcore" (yet self proclaimed, no one has argued her title) founded the group "1337 g33k b34t" with highschool friend Tanner Brown (aka "T-Byte") in 2003. Although the two are still friends and occasionally collaborate musically, the group disbanded in late 2006 to leave each of them to perform as solo acts. Late 2006 also marked the birth of "Tri-forc3", a joint effort between MC Router, Beefy, and Shael Riley. After Wired Magazine published an article on the Nerdcore scene in late 2006, MC Router wrote a letter to the magazine editors and composed a song entitled "Unwired", explaining why she felt that the Nerdcore scene was misrepresented in the article. Wired ended up loving the song and dedicated an apology article to Router in the following month. As year 2007 began, Router released another new track entitled Trekkie Pride, which is known as "The First Nerdcore Song of 2007" in which the music was composed by internet companion, Funky49. The song appeared on a Drown Radio podcast less than a week later. She has also performed with such notable nerdcore artists like MC Chris, YTCracker, MC Lars, Beefy, Optimus Rhyme and MC Frontalot. As of the end of 2007, MC Router took a hiatus from the Nerdcore scene due to a disagreement between her and her producer, T-Byte. Router and T-Byte are still friends and continue to work on their own musics separately. MC Router is back to making nerdy music, but does not really consider herself a part of the Nerdcore community, but will not deny that her music is still very much indeed, Nerdcore. In 2009 MC Router played at club Panama in Amsterdam, NL at the first Dutch Nerdcore event. MC Router would like to thank Pabst Blue Ribbon and all of her supporting and loving fans for all the good times." |

Mc Router is probably the coolest person on the planet. Not to mention the first lady of nerdcore. I met her a year ago by accident. I was driving down a long stretch of road late one night. I was really tired and going really fast, when my brakes died on me. I couldn't stop and was swirling out of control. All of a sudden, my car felt like it was being lifted off the ground. I realized that it was because of mc Router's music that my car was able to stop. She saved my life! |
