It is a period of civil war. Launching from their hidden base, the brave members of the Rebel Alliance attempt one last desperate mission while the Imperial fleet combs the galaxy, intent on crushing the Rebellion. Rebel pilots don their flight suits and muster their courage to confront a squadron of Imperial Star Destroyers in a nearby sector, hoping to draw attention away from the small team headed into the center of the Empire's grasp…

Daring Rebel spies have uncovered a weak point in the Galactic Empire's defenses. Tensions run high as the Rebels assemble a strike team with one chance to set back the Empire's quest for total galactic domination, but with zero margin for error! Coordinating hit-and-run attacks to distract the Imperials, the Rebel Alliance relies upon a handful of heroes to undertake a vital mission…

Star Wars: The Card Game is a cooperative card game that puts 1-4 players* in command of the Rebel strike force and mission team. Players launch fleets of starships and direct some of the most famous heroes in the Star Wars galaxy as they confront the might of the Empire. By working together, players can fend off Imperial assaults and complete their mission, winning the game!

In Star Wars: The Card Game, players take the roles of such notable heroes as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia as an Imperial deck opposes their mission attempts with a devious artificial intelligence. With a wealth of characters, starships, missions, and enemies, Star Wars: The Card Game immerses players in galactic conflict set during the time of the original trilogy.

Dramatic game play

Star Wars: The Card Game offers an innovative, cooperative or solo play experience. Players command different Rebel strategies melded together to embark upon a perilous mission while the Imperials scour space to find and destroy the Rebel base. Each mission is divided into a number of stages, represented by individual cards in a mission deck. Each stage of a mission has a limited window of time during which Rebels can successfully perform the necessary tasks. If they take too long, the Rebels will fail, and the Imperials will win the stage. Each turn, the Imperials move closer to finding the Rebel’s hidden base, making it more difficult for the Rebels to successfully win the final stage, complete the mission, and achieve victory.

During their turns, players pay for starships, characters, and attachments, assigning them to one of four zones. Starships all enter play in the space zone where they form the last line of defense between the Rebel base and the massing Imperial fleet. Characters commit to one of three different zones.

Characters in the Attack Zone exchange fire with Imperial troops, defending other members of the Rebel Alliance and weakening the Imperial mission defense.
Characters in the Reserve Zone provide logistical support away from the front lines; they can take actions unavailable to Rebels on the front lines, including repairing damage to ships, resting, and sorting through new intelligence.
Characters in the Mission Zone try to overcome Imperial defenses and bring the Rebels closer to their objective.
Players are opposed by an Imperial encounter deck, unique to each mission, which follows a plan dictated by a handful of strategy cards. The strategy deck determines the actions that the Imperial forces will take against the players each round, providing the game with a built in AI to run the powerful Imperial military. Each strategy card dictates which Imperial forces strike in the round and which targets they attack. As Rebel and Imperial forces close in for their final conflicts, the tension builds, with each change of Imperial strategy bringing a thrilling new turn of events.

Assembling the Rebel strike team

With over two-hundred cards, the Star Wars: The Card Game Core Set provides players everything they need to assemble a wide range of decks right out of the box. With tremendous deck-building potential and three vital Rebel missions offering a broad range of challenges, the Core Set transports players to a galaxy of tremendous replay value.

Players build Rebel decks designed around command cards for each of the four main Rebel strategies.

The Military strategy excels at engaging Imperials in both space and ground combat. This strategy features the strongest starfighters and the most effective pilots.
Rogues who join the Rebellion present high risk investments with potentially high reward. They excel at stealth, avoidance, and smuggling resources.
The Tech strategy introduces droids and powerful weapons to arm your characters and ships. These Rebels excel at repairs and upgrades for the Rebel fleet.
The Operations strategy employs diplomacy and espionage, making them experts at gathering intelligence and manipulating Imperial forces. This strategy draws on resources from across the Rebel Alliance to focus on scouting, control, and completing missions.
While the Core Set contains everything you need to build your deck, gather your friends, and launch your mission team, you can continue to expand your galaxy! As a Living Card Game (LCG), Star Wars: The Card Game offers an ongoing narrative and a wealth of customization. Each monthly 60-card expansion, called a Force Pack, introduces a brand new mission for the Rebels to undertake. Additionally, these Force Packs bring new characters, starships, and Imperial forces to the table, increasing the scope of the galactic conflict.

Additionally, each Living Card Game (LCG) offers an innovative fixed distribution method that breaks away from the traditional Collectible Card Game model. While Star Wars: The Card Game offers dynamic, expanding and evolving game play, its fixed distribution method means you buy the cards you want without blind-buy purchases, allowing you to focus on battling the Empire, rather than blindly chasing an elusive rare. The result is that you get more time playing with less time hunting for cards. You can check our LCG website for all the details of this innovative card gaming concept.

Assemble your team to strike a blow against the Empire. May the Force be with you!
