Here are a few ground rules that must be followed by all members of this site. Failure to follow them could result in having your posts deleted and your membership revoked. 1. No Profanity - No cursing is allowed on this site. Likewise no inappropriate sexual content. No posting offensive images or links to outside sites that host vulgar language or pornography either. Mild expletives and sexual innuendo are acceptable but excessive swearing and graphic sexual discussion are not allowed. 2. Character Approval - Character Applications must be reviewed and approved before you can start posting in any RP thread. You're free to post at any time in any of the social areas of the board but you must have an approved character to participate in an RP thread. If your character isn't approved reasons will be given and corrections will have to be made before you are considered. 3. No overpowering of characters - In other words no Mary Sues/Gary Stus will be tolerated here. Your character should be a believable, realistic person. Characters are just like ordinary people with flaws and emotions. They are not perfect and should bleed when injured and make common mistakes. Don't try to be "uber" and take on an army of undead single-handedly or step in and assume command of a situation in your first post. 4. No thread hopping - If you're character is part of a storyline already you can't use him/her in another story occurring in another section of the board. You'll have to either leave your current thread or approve a second character. It is, however, acceptable to stage thread crossovers and have your character leave one thread and join the other when they separate once again. 5. No god-modding - You're only allowed to control your own character. Don't dictate actions or speech for anyone else’s. It's disrespectful to other members. The same applies for another person’s NPCs so you should ask their permission before using them. The same goes for auto-hitting. If your charaacter initiates an attack you must give your opponent a chance to defend and/or retaliate. 6. Don’t hijack threads - There’s no rule that says you have to gain someone’s permission to enter their thread (even though this would be polite) but don’t barge into their storyline and try to take it over. This will not only derail a storyline that was already in progress but it’ll also tick off everyone who was participating in it. If you have a few ideas you want to use in someone else’s RP then you should discuss them with the thread leader first. 7. Respect other members - Once you've been approved you'll be working with other members. It's important to respect each other, especially your administrators, and not cause too many problems of a personal nature. Creative differences and issues with the site are one thing but flamewars won't be tolerated. Likewise don’t gripe because your application wasn’t approved or start rushing other members to post.
