Industrial District
The heart of the city’s industry has ceased to function in the wake of the Zombie Apocalypse. The industrial district is dominated by a massive iron refinery and the city’s lumber yard with tracts of forest and empty lots spaced between. Valuable resources such as iron and wood make the industrial district a treasure trove of construction material but a lack of available provisions keep the area from being inhabited for any long period of time. Still, the region’s isolation and a minimal population of zombies make it an ideal location for a temporary shelter.

The Waterfront
After the Apocalypse the area along the waterfront was quickly looted of anything valuable and its many warehouses left gutted and empty. Today the river serves as the safest means of moving from one end of the city to the other. Since zombies cannot swim boating has become the preferred method of travel. Anyone who owns such a craft can make a tidy sum ferrying passengers and supplies to their destinations. Although modern day piracy has recently become a threat many human survivors are willing to take their chances on the waters.

The Suburbs
Beyond the ruined metropolis lies the realm of suburbia. These peaceful neighborhoods saw much bloodshed during the viral outbreak but have fallen eerily silent in its wake. Unable to mount much of a resistance against the tides of undead the small town citizens were forced to flee before them or die and join their ranks. Today the suburban areas are inhabited only by the zombies who once called them home. The occasional squatter can be found lurking within the basements and attics of any one of the broken houses but any large groups of humans who come here will only attract the attention of the zombies.
