There once was a man with a wonderful hat. He loved this hat more than anything out of any of his possessions. He prided himself on it and everyone he knew adored it. He was an honest hard working man and he didn't have much in the world. He owned a farm which was enough to support him, his family, and to make a little profit. One day, after working in the fields his hands were especially dirty and muddy. So he walked to a near by river to wash up. He leaned forward like he always did, but since his hands were dirty he did not remove his hat for fear of dirtying it. As he leaned forward the hat fell from his head. But he didn't grab it because the mud from his hands would get all over it. So it fell into the river and washed away for ever. The moral is, that even though you love something very much, you may need to be a little hard on it or them, so you can keep them. Tough love is always a necessity. |
