The Local Steampunk
|
Welcome to Potpourri City, dubbed by many as the famous Pokémon City. The city was founded several centuries ago during the Second Great Pokémon War as a kind of sanctuary for deserters, immigrants, and others wanting nothing to do with the war. Unfortunately, a war of sorts has started. Three rivaling gangs, the “Army of Arrancar,” “Organization 13,” and the “First Church of Kira,” have began trying to take over the city and its population. The local authorities, the “Potpourri City Police Department” are attempting to remove the threat from the city once and for all. Whether you decide to join any of these four forces or not is completely up to you. Players enter from the pathway from the wild, the dock or the airport, all from the east side of town. The northern, southern, and western parts of town have a natural border of mountains. From there, they may go to the following in-town areas: City Hall: Here, aspiring adventurers may partake side quests for money, items, and in extremely rare occasions, Pokémon. You can also join the PCPD here. Battle Arena (and Battle Information): Where formal battles, between other players or NPCs take place. 1) You are not permitted to fight anywhere else in the city unless you have sided with the “Army of Arrancar” (AoA,) “Organization 13” (O-13,) the “First Church of Kira” (1st C K) or the “Potpourri City Police Department” (PCPD.) 2) Even then, you are only allowed to fight other players/NPCs under those affiliations, unless you’re defending yourself from muggers, thieves and the like. 3) It is also possible to fight in the Mountains, the Forest, the Valley, and the Caves. 4) Regarding Double Battles: In wild Pokémon battles, you are allowed to have two of your Pokémon battle a lone wild Pokémon. If two wild Pokémon attack, you must use two of your own Pokémon (unless all but one are KO'd.) In trainer battles, you may only fight 1-VS-1 or 2-VS-2. Department Store: All, or most, your necessities for raising and training your Pokémon can be purchased here. The item list will be accessed once a player decides to go here. Pokémon Center: Heal your Pokémon here. Depending on circumstances, the Center might end up charging for their services if something major or important happens. The Pub: Not too much to say here, but this is the best place to find out about recent happenings from the locals and the bartenders. It is also possible to learn about the backgrounds of the rivaling factions here as well. THIS PLACE DOES NOT DOUBLE AS A PUBLIC CHAT AREA The Alleys: The last place most people would want to be. Thugs, robbers, and gangs congregate here. This is also where you can join the ranks of AoA, O-13, and 1st C K. You could travel to other places in town, but the aforementioned spots will most likely provide the most interest to trainers. If you go would like to capture Pokémon, you may go to: The Mountains: The boundaries of the city. Due to high elevation and daunting cliffs, few trainers will be here, but there will be an abundance of Rock, Ground, and Flying-type Pokémon. Leads to the Valley. The Forest: From the pathway in the east. There are many Bug, Grass, and Normal-type Pokémon. There are not a vast amount of trainers here, but there are certainly more than the Mountains. Leads to the Cave. The Beach: The beach is a nice rest and relaxation spot from a hard day of work, but you might also find Water and potentially Ice-type Pokémon in the ocean if you decide to go for a swim or go fishing. The Valley: In most mountain ranges, there is a less elevated area somewhere in the middle of the range. The same goes with this valley, located beyond the southern range of mountains. There will be fewer trainers than the Mountains, but there will be a huge assortment of Pokémon species. The Caves: An extremely dark place. In fact, it might become so dark at night or if you go deeper, that you will need a sort of light source. You will only find the bravest and most insane trainers here. It is guaranteed that you will find some forms of Bug-type Pokémon, but you might also discover Poison, Rock, and even Ghost and Dark-type Pokémon if you’re lucky... or unlucky enough. Fun Facts: Human Population: Approx. 525,000 Area: 1543.42 sq mi Trading Information: You may trade anywhere. Events Information: There should at least be one major event happening here once a month. They will usually range from 1 - 7 days. Most of the images from my posts in this thread are found from: http://www.pokecharms.com/ Banned Trainers: Ryan, for attempting to steal artwork from the museum. Current Events: None. With her Houndour at her side, Tracy headed towards the mountains. Her ultimate goal was to get to the valley but she needed to cross the mountains first. |

Tracy: As you pass by the mountains, you see several Pokémon staring at you. "Meh, they won't harm me." "Houndour!" your companion yelped. You see a Spearow flying directly towards you. You dodge it before it could scar your face. "Houndour! Let's get this annoying bird!" you shout at the crazed bird. Houndour - Level 5 24/24 Ember, Leer VS. Spearow - Level 6 22/22 Peck, Growl Edited by Vaati227, Sep 16 2008, 06:53 PM.

Tracy: Houndour Leered at the bird. Spearow lost some of its confidence and left its guard down. Houndour took this moment to use Ember on Spearow. CRITICAL HIT! Spearow glared at Houndour and Pecked at him. Houndour dodged the attempted attack except for one peck. "HOUNDOUR!" it roared. Houndour - Level 5 20/24 Ember, Leer VS. Spearow - Level 6 14/22 Peck, Growl |

Tracy smile, happy with her partners performance. "Use ember one again Houndour!" Tracy shouted once again. She then went into her backpack and pulled out a pokeball. She planned on throwing the it at the bird once the ember made contact. |

Tracy: "HOUNDOUR!!!!!!!" the Pokémon roared furiously as it used Ember on the opposing Spearow. "SPEAROWWWWWW!" it screeched as it fell, burning to the ground. "Pokéball, GO!" you nearly scream as you threw the capturing device at the weakened bird. You were so amazed at the sight that you nearly forgot to throw the ball in the first place. It hit Spearow, and it shook once, twice, thrice... GOTCHA! You have captured Spearow. *Final Fantasy Victory music plays :Ike: * Would you like to give Spearow a nickname? Tracy immediately let her new friend out if its pokeball and used a potion on him. "Welcome to the team Spearow!" Tracy said with a smile. Together, Tracy, Houndour, and Spearow continued on their way to the valley. |

Tracy: You reach the Valley without anymore encounters with wild Pokémon. (Yay )You see several Pokémon in herds, grazing on the grass. All of a sudden, it begins to rain. "Are you serious?" you frown at the downpour. You search for a shelter, no matter how crude, to wait out the storm. After finding a nice small cave, you see a man, no older than you, walking through the rain, oblivious to you. Spoiler: click to toggle Will you call out to him, or will you ignore him and see if he notices you? Edited by Vaati227, Sep 17 2008, 09:19 PM.

Tracy: The man looks up and sees you. He walks over to your cave. "Oh, thanks, I kinda spaced out," he replies timidly. "You could have caught a cold." "Why, yes I could have. Well anyways, my name is Troy. How about you?" he gives a weak smile. "Oh, my name is Tracy. Nice to meet you, Troy." "Same... Can I ask you something?" "Okay." "Why are you doing down here in the Valley?" "Well..." |

Tracy: "Oh," you notice a slight blush on his cheeks. "I was just wondering. I didn't think I would see another person here." "What brings you here, Troy?" "I was just here to sketch the surroundings." "Oh?" "You see, I enjoy drawing," he shows you a book full of drawings of Pokémon, people, and nature." "These are nice," you say in amazement. "Thanks," once again, you see him blush. "I was wondering, since I'm kind of a new trainer too, do you want to have a battle?" Edited by iPaLiNdR0mEi, Sep 16 2008, 07:39 PM.
